Account Management Specialists - Senior #IN1208
DESCRIPTION
Utilize mechanical engineering principles and practices to sell engine products, components and systems to assigned accounts to achieve the company's sales goals, expanding existing customer relationships and executing account sales plans. Develop, maintain and negotiate business relationships with assigned customer/accounts and provide key feedback for growth or new business contracts and cost initiatives. Collect and assess customer data internally and externally, compare against historical sales data to determine useful inputs and create a forecast of future consumption patterns. Develop marketing plans including drafts of marketing communications for mechanical engineering product and systems, by assessing customer data and determining useful inputs to create a forecast of future consumptions patterns. Utilize mechanical engineering principles and practices to manage production and distribution issues associated with accounts and confer with engineers and customers to discuss existing or potential engineering projects or products. Utilize knowledge of Sales Pipeline Management to plan for successful execution of account/territory-level sales strategies based on current pipeline and evaluate pipeline health (size, contents, progress) by adjusting sales strategy, plans or high impact activities in order to achieve sales objectives. Drive Customer Focus Six Sigma initiatives using Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control (DMAIC) and Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) to strengthen relationships within the engine market and to deliver customer-centric solutions to engine product problems. Develop account strategies to determine current status of account in terms of relationship, financial, product competitiveness, barriers, quality and service in order to define achievable targets. Act as a champion for voice of the customer (VOC) within the business to provide feedback to the engineering team for products, components, and systems. Analyze and interpret complex data from the engine market to formulate projections specific to business segments. Drive cross business-unit account development and investigate customer complaints to determine the nature and extent of problems. Compile data and write reports regarding market data for engineering products and components. Ensure timely launch and resolve distribution issues associated with accounts during the New Product Introduction (NPI) process. Research, verify and organize complex market trends, competitive intelligence, and sales data.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Positions require a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 2 years of experience as a Mechanical, Systems or Performance Engineer, Combustion or Emissions Specialist, or related position. Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 5 years of experience as Mechanical, Systems or Performance Engineer, Combustion or Emissions Specialist, or related position. Experience to include: Contract negotiations with customer; Sales Forecasting; Production and Distribution Management; Sales Pipeline Management; Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control (DMAIC) and Design For Six Sigma (DFSS); Developing account strategy; Voice of the customer (VOC); New Product Introduction (NPI); Organize complex market trends.
