Senior Scientist QC Excellence LIMS

As a Senior Scientist QC Excellence LIMS you will work in a small group of senior LIMS specialists. This is a remote position and could be located anywhere, with a preference to candidates living within driving distance to a CSL office in the following countries: United States, Germany, Switzerland and Australia. In this non-routine position, you'll design and build new tools to improve the efficiency of LIMS master data maintenance. You will support projects that shape the future of QC testing activities from the arrival of raw materials to the release of our innovative medicines. Reporting to our CSL Behring Kankakee site you will collaborate with LIMS colleagues in Europe and Australia and interact with stakeholders from Quality Control, Quality Assurance, Production, Engineering and Business Technology.

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Support the design and develop tools and reports using Python and SQL
  • Query, analyze and visualize data and develop future data concepts
  • Supervise and support local LIMS teams to perform large scale master data changes
  • Act as a primary point of contact for QC Excellence LIMS internal tools and reporting improvement
  • Represent QC Excellence LIMS in local and global laboratory automation projects
  • Maintain working knowledge of regulations and guidelines as related to laboratory instrumentation and computerized systems (i.e., USP, 21CFR Part 11, Annex 11 regulations) to ensure compliance with guidelines and industry best practice

Who you are:

With your proactive and self-responsible approach, you take initiative and drive progress forward. The below competencies will help you to be successful in this role:
  • University degree in a relevant scientific discipline (Biology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Information Technology, Mathematics, etc.)
  • 3+ years' experience as a data scientist or similar role handling data (querying, exploring, cleaning, visualizing)
  • Advanced SQL and Python, R or JavaScript knowledge
  • Strong written & verbal communication
  • Strong analytical/problem solving and organizational skills
  • Able to work independently and as a team member across multiple time zones in a high-performance environment.
  • Advantageous in descending order:
    • Profound LIMS database experience
    • Knowledge of sampling and laboratory processes and willingness to extend
      know-how on the field
    • Experience in a pharmaceutical/medicinal GMP environment
    • Azure and Power-BI familiarity

The expected base salary range for this position at hiring is $80 - $90K USD. Please note this salary range reflects the minimum and maximum base pay that CSL expects to pay for this position at the listed location as of the time of this posting. Individual base salary for a successful candidate is determined by qualifications, skill level, experience, competencies, and other relevant factors. In addition to base salary, total compensation for this role may also include incentive compensation and equity.
