Position Description Summary

The Senior Manager, R&D Data Stewardship provides operational support for data stewardship initiatives by helping manage data standards, track data quality, and assist with stewardship tooling and documentation. Works closely with data stewards, IT, and scientific teams to support consistent and compliant data practices.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Define and maintain data dictionaries, metadata standards and data management workflows.
  • Manage data curation and wrangling activities to deliver accurate, standardized, and metadata enriched data for downstream scientific/data science analytics or integration into data platforms.
  • Support data quality monitoring activities & resolution of data issues, discrepancies, and prevent duplication or corruption
  • Support remediation activities and root cause analysis; track issues to ensure timely implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
  • Lead process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for enhanced quality or efficiency.
  • Engage with external stakeholders and partners to ensure data quality, compliance with standards, and adherence to contracts & data-sharing agreements.
  • Coordinate stewardship-related communications, documentations, training and change management activities.
  • Support data stewardship teams in onboarding and effective use of data management tools (e.g., central data repositories, metadata catalogues, data management platforms/portals).

  • Work with IT and platform teams to validate integration of data management processes into systems.

  • Qualification:
    • Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, Information Sciences or related field.
    • 7+ years of experience biomedical R&D data management or related roles.
    • Experience managing data across Research, Clinical, Safety, and/or Regulatory domains.
    • Knowledge of FAIR data principles and regulatory requirements.
    • Familiarity with data quality concepts and metadata management and governance principles.
    • Experience working with data and scientific platforms in a collaborative environment.
    • Detailed oriented with strong documentation and communication skills.
