Plant Engineer- Building Operations & Services

The Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Plant Engineer to join our Building Operations and Services team in CSL Melbourne to support the operational performance of the facility's process and building utilities.

You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, compliance, and efficiency of critical utility systems including WFI, Pure Steam, HVAC, Boilers, and more. You'll work closely with R&D and Global Engineering teams to support operational readiness, maintenance, and continuous improvement.

This is a 12 month Fixed term / Secondment opportunity based at our CSL Melbourne site.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues across plant and building utilities
  • Support shutdowns, start-ups, and maintenance activities
  • Lead resolution of utility-related deviations and non-conformances and maintain accurate asset data and documentation
  • Maintain SAP master data and ensure documentation is up to date
  • Respond to in-hours and out-of-hours alarms
  • Conduct risk and criticality assessments, and plan spare parts procurement
  • Act as a key liaison between R&D and Engineering stakeholders
Your Skills & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent)
  • Experience working in a Pharma manufacturing space and similar Plant Operations role of maintaining operations, shutdown planning, preventative maintenance, planning and spare parts ordering is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of complex engineering systems - e.g., HVAC, WFI and PFS
  • Familiarity with FDA, TGA, OGTR regulations and validation practices
  • Experience with automation systems (e.g., Siemens PCS7) preferred
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
