Main Responsibilities
Join CSL Behring's AI Platform team for a experience focused on building and enhancing our enterprise AI infrastructure. This role sits at the intersection of cloud computing, AI engineering, and AIOps, providing hands-on experience with real-world AI platform development in a regulated pharmaceutical environment.

You'll work directly with our AI Platform team, gaining insight into how enterprise AI capabilities are built, secured, and scaled. This experience will provide valuable exposure to the infrastructure side of AI that goes beyond model development to focus on the platforms that enable AI at scale.

•Cloud Infrastructure for AI: Assist in configuring and maintaining AWS-based infrastructure supporting our three-tier AI platform architecture. Help implement infrastructure-as-code for AI-specific resource patterns using tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
• AI Platform Engineering: Contribute to building components of our AI platform including vector database implementations, model registry services, and API gateways for LLM access. Gain experience with containerization and Kubernetes for AI workloads.
• Monitoring & Observability: Develop monitoring solutions for AI services to track performance, usage patterns, and detect anomalies. Implement logging and tracing for model inference and data pipeline operations.
• Security & Compliance: Learn about implementing security controls specific to AI workloads including data protection, access management, and audit logging in a regulated environment.
• Data Pipeline Engineering: Assist in building and optimizing data flows between enterprise systems (like Veeva) and our AI platform. Implement and test transformation processes for unstructured data preparation.
• Documentation & Knowledge Transfer: Create technical documentation for platform components, APIs, and implementation patterns to support knowledge sharing with business stakeholders.
• Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, software engineers, end users, and product managers, to understand project requirements and objectives. Participate in collaborative brainstorming sessions and contribute creative ideas for potential applications of generative AI.
• Ethical AI Practices: Understand and apply ethical considerations in AI development, such as fairness, transparency, and privacy. Identify potential biases in data and models.
• Professional Development: Engage in learning opportunities offered during the internship. Network with professionals in the field to gain insights and career advice.

Qualifications:
• Enrolled in a 4-year university with progression toward an undergraduate degree Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Software Engineering, Data Science, or a related field - preferably Junior or Senior.
• Coursework or projects related to cloud computing, machine learning, or distributed systems.
• Basic understanding of AWS services (EC2, S3, Lambda) and cloud architecture concepts is preferred, but not required.
• Familiarity with at least one programming language such as Python, Java, or JavaScript.
• Interest in infrastructure, platforms, and systems rather than just model development.
• Basic understanding of containerization concepts (Docker) is preferred, but not required.
• Strong problem-solving skills and eagerness to learn new technologies
• Previous internships or academic projects related to AI or machine learning are a plus.
• Good communication skills to work effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
