Director, Portfolio Insights & Analytics
Position Description Summary
The Portfolio Insights & Analytics Director is a dynamic, highly collaborative, and strategic leader responsible for driving the success of the Portfolio Insights Hub. This role serves as the analytical cornerstone and operational engine for data-driven decision-making and the strategic optimization of our Pipeline portfolio. This role is a thought leader, providing advanced portfolio modelling and innovative decision-support, while ensuring comprehensive portfolio data management, performance monitoring and adherence of portfolio standards. Role accountable for overseeing the daily responsibilities of Strategic Snr Manager, Portfolio Analysis & Insights Director. The ideal candidate needs to be proficient in Planview Advisor (Advanced Portfolio Analytics Tool), possess a unique blend of advanced analytic and modelling skills, strategic mindset, strong communication and ability to engage with cross-functional team and executive leadership.

Main Responsibilities & Accountabilities
Comprehensive Portfolio Assessment and Prioritisation:
- Champion ongoing portfolio assessment and prioritization by delivering timely, holistic evaluations of the pipeline from R&D, Commercial, TechOps and BD perspectives.
- Proactively monitor and communicate the impact of internal and external events and decisions across short-, mid-, and long-term horizons, ensuring a thorough understanding of pipeline status and strategic positioning within the Portfolio Development & Commercialisation (PD&C) Framework.
- Lead the analysis and synthesis of diverse data inputs to identify emerging opportunities, risks, and actionable recommendations that drive portfolio value.
- Design, implement, and maintain executive-level reporting and interactive dashboards that provide a multidimensional view of the pipeline, covering value creation, strategic alignment, risk assessments, and execution milestones.
- Translate complex, multifaceted data sets into clear, compelling visual presentations, enabling senior stakeholders to make informed, data-driven decisions.
- Ensure consistency and reliability of portfolio information for internal decision-making and external reporting requirements.
- Oversee the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of portfolio master data, while upholding established classifications, definitions, and standardized portfolio management processes.
- Serve as the Super User and Champion of Planview Advisor, leveraging advanced portfolio modeling and analytics to facilitate real-time, dynamic dialogue with leadership regarding portfolio performance, risk, and optimization strategies.
- Drive ongoing improvements in pipeline modeling, simulation techniques, and predictive analytics to support robust scenario planning and strategic foresight.

Qualifications & Experience
- Undergraduate life sciences/business/data analytics degree in relevant discipline essential; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Extensive experience (12+ years) in R&D portfolio management, data analytics, data science, or related field
- Experience working in a global biotech organization / deep understanding of drug development lifecycle is strongly preferred
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Extensive experience in R&D portfolio modeling and decision analysis; Proficient in advanced analytical tools and techniques.
- Excellent communication and executive presentation abilities; Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency in portfolio management software and data visualization tools (e.g., Planview Advisor, Power BI).
