Director, Portfolio Business Partner, Late-Stage & LCM
Position Description Summary
The Portfolio Business Partner for Late-Phase Development and LCM programs is intended to serve as a vital link between the business (R&D, Commercial, Technical Operations and BD&L) and the Portfolio Insights Hub (Analytical Engine Room). This highly collaborative role is essential for ensuring seamless communication and alignment to help drive PD&C programs to optimize portfolio performance and support informed decision making. They will work closely with the TA/PSTs to provide strategic and decision-support from a portfolio modelling and prioritization-perspective, helping to translate what program-specific factors / decisions mean in terms of overall portfolio value. The ideal candidate will possess a strong business partner mindset and knowledge of the Late-Stage & LCM portfolio, excelling in stakeholder relationships and management.

- Serve as trusted business partner to TA, GPLs and Cross-Functional Teams by developing deep-understanding of TA portfolio and program progression, and alignment with overall strategic objectives
- Support the quantitative assessments (NPV and/or PTRS) and option analysis, and overall prioritization of Late-Stage Development and LCM programs
- Partner with R&D, Commercial and/or Technical Operations stakeholders to deliver a thorough business case in partnership with Portfolio Finance and Portfolio Decision Strategy Director
- Primary liaison between TA/PSTs and Portfolio Insights Hub and Decision Strategy Lead; Facilitate effective communication / collaboration across teams to maximize value
- Monitor and analyze portfolio performance to identify trends, risks and opportunities and/or trade-offs
- Become proficient user of Advanced Portfolio Analytics Tool (Planview Advisor); Ensure latest portfolio information is represented
- Assist in developing scenarios to reflect various scenarios (investments, partnerships, new projects) to facilitate informed decision-making
- In addition to developing and maintain strong relationships with TAs, GPLs, and other cross-functional teams, Build bridges and relationship with Technical Operations, BD&L and Medical Affairs Teams in alignment with PD&C Framework
- Actively engage in key initiatives to advance the PD&C framework and implementing new ways of working to drive enterprise-wide ownership of pipeline portfolio
- Provide training and support on portfolio management best practices, tools, data classifications, assessments, etc. to business partner
- Act as a strategic integrator and key relationship manager for pipeline analytics; offering guidance and support on portfolio-related matters from a governance and oversight perspective

Qualifications & Experience
- Undergraduate life sciences/business/data analytics degree in relevant discipline essential; MBA or advanced degree preferred
- Extensive experience (12+ years) in R&D portfolio management, project and maintaining effective stakeholder relationships
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; Proactive and innovative mindset, management, finance or related field
- Experience working in a global biotech organization / deep understanding of drug development lifecycle is strongly preferred
- Proven experience in a business partner role, with a strong track record of building
- Strong analytical skills; Proficiency in portfolio management software and data visualization tools (e.g., Planview Advisor, Power BI).
