CSL's Co-op Program is a hands-on experience that showcases the daily innovation and operations of a leading biotechnology company. Our environment is collaborative, global, and purpose-driven. The 26-week experience will immerse students in meaningful, thought-provoking projects that contribute to CSL's promise to save lives and protect the health of people around the world. In addition to making an impact, students will be developed personally and professionally while cultivating meaningful relationships.

Main Responsibilities
  • Test Automation Development: Learn and assist in writing, executing, and maintaining automated test scripts using designated frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium for UI; RestAssured, Postman for API; JUnit, TestNG, for unit/integration). Debug and troubleshoot failures in automated test runs
  • CI/CD Pipeline Integration: Assist in integrating automated test suites into the CI/CD pipeline (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI) including configuring test environments, and monitor automated test execution. Learn about pipeline configurations and how testing fits into the build and deployment stages
  • Testing: Participate in various testing activities, including manual testing (exploratory, regression) when needed, to understand the application better. Assist in identifying, documenting, tracking software defects using bug tracking systems (like Jira) and retesting the bugs
  • Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with developers, senior testers, DevOps engineers, and product owners under guidance. Participate in team meetings, such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives. Clearly communicate test results, issues, and progress to the team.
  • Tooling & Environment Management: Learn to use version control systems like Git for managing test code. Assist with setting up and maintaining test environments under close supervision. Gain exposure to monitoring and logging tools relevant to testing and application performance
  • Learning & Process Improvement: Actively learn about software testing methodologies, automation best practices, DevOps principles, and the specific technologies used by the team. Contribute ideas for improving testing processes or automation frameworks

Qualifications:
  • Enrolled in a 4-year university with progression toward an undergraduate degree (Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related technical field)
  • Technical Skills (Foundational): Basic understanding of programming concepts. Familiarity with at least one programming language and operating system.
  • Understanding of fundamental software development lifecycle (SDLC) concepts including software testing principles and methodologies (e.g., types of testing like functional, regression, integration, etc.).
  • (Desirable) Exposure to test automation tools (e.g., Selenium), familiarity with version control systems, and exposure to CI/CD concepts or tools
  • Strong analytical skills with an ability to troubleshoot basic issues and detail-oriented approach to tasks
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to work well with all levels of the organization
  • Demonstrates flexibility and acceptance of assignments and schedules
  • Enthusiasm to learn new tools & technologies
  • Maintains professional behavior
