Associate Director, Finance Business Partner
The Opportunity:
Reporting to the Senior Director, Finance Business Partner US, as the Associate Director, Finance Business Partner, you will be a member of the US Commercial Finance Team and act as a strategic advisor to the US Commercial leadership team. You will drive value creation through actionable insights, financial stewardship, and business partnership. You will influence decision-making by providing forward-looking analysis, challenging assumptions, and ensuring alignment of financial strategy with business objectives. You will ole collaborate extensively with Marketing, Market Access Accounts, Sales, Strategic Pricing & Contracting, and Patient Experience teams to deliver integrated financial support.
This is a hybrid role, which offers a combination of an onsite and remote work schedule. #LI-hybrid
The Role:
- Strategic Business Partnering - Serve as a trusted advisor to senior commercial leaders, providing financial leadership that shapes strategy and supports execution of US business objectives.
- Decision Support & Insight - Translate financial data into meaningful insights; challenge business assumptions; present options and scenarios that guide resource allocation and investment choices.
- Performance Management - Track and interpret KPIs, ensuring commercial performance is aligned with strategic and financial objectives. Deliver clear narratives and story behind the numbers.
- Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning - Lead planning cycles, ensuring robust forecasting, sensitivity analyses, and scenario modeling. Align forecasts with market dynamics and strategic priorities.
- Efficiency & Value Creation - Identify opportunities for operational efficiency, cost optimization, and value creation across the commercial value chain.
- Data, Systems & Analytics - Champion use of digital finance tools (SAP, SAC, BI platforms, Qlik, Tableau, Power BI). Enable data-driven decision making and drive adoption of analytics.
- Governance & Controls - Ensure compliance with financial policies, internal controls, and audit standards. Provide oversight during external audits.
- Finance Strategy - Support delivery of the Finance Strategy and have collective ownership for Global Finance team development initiatives. Effectively manage without formal authority in matrix environment.
- Change Leadership - Act as a catalyst for change, promoting innovation in processes, systems, and ways of working across finance and the commercial organization.
Your Skills & Abilities:
- Bachelor's degree with major(s) in Finance, Accounting, or other related Business field, including Economics, Business Administration, etc. MBA and/or professional certification (e.g., CPA or CMA) preferred.
- 10+ years in financial planning & analysis, business partnering, or commercial finance roles, ideally within pharmaceuticals or life sciences.
- At least 3 years in commercial finance or a business facing role.
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior stakeholders, challenge assumptions, and translate complex data into actionable insights.
- Proven track record of driving business performance and delivering financial impact in a matrix environment.
- Expert in Excel and proficient in MS Office.
- Hands-on experience with SAP S/4, SAP BPC, SAC, BW/BI, Qlik, Tableau, or Power BI; Model N a plus.
- Strong analytical, storytelling, and presentation skills.
- Intellectually curious, agile, and results-oriented.
- Skilled at building collaborative, trust-based relationships across all levels of the organization.
Travel Requirements:
- Domestic and International travel may be required from time to time.
