About the Role:

Help us protect CrowdStrike and its customers from the most advanced threats! CrowdStrike's Product Security team breaks the mold of traditional internal security and focuses on active threats to CrowdStrike's products. As a Security Engineer, you will perform complex investigations to determine risk, root cause and remediation, technical security assessments of systems, monitor for emerging vulnerabilities, create tooling for known gaps and deploy large-scale security/monitoring systems.

What You'll Do:
  • Investigate small to large scale security and engineering issues to determine risk, impact, and recovery solutions
  • Conduct response and remediation efforts across complex systems and data sets
  • Examine systems and applications to understand current security posture
  • Advocate for best security practices, and engineer solutions to meet them
  • Security monitoring and response during business hours
  • Project work across a variety of efforts to enhance platform security
What You'll Need:
  • Applicable experience in a security role implementing and supporting production systems and teams
  • Experience in cloud engineering, incident response, preferably in roles focusing on SaaS platforms and large data sets
  • Experience with Linux and/or other Unix-like variants
  • Scripting capabilities shell, Python, Ruby, or some other automation system
  • Protocol knowledge of TCP/IP, HTTP, applied cryptography, others
  • Familiarity with IDS and SIEM systems such as Bro, Suricata, Splunk, Elk stack, LogScale, others
  • Experience supporting production systems in hybrid environments
  • AUS citizen
Bonus Points:
  • Technical security certifications or academic background
  • Linux security and forensic experience
  • Experience in high pace and complexity environments
  • Experience working with developers on security vulnerability impact and remediation efforts
  • Experience supporting operational systems at scale
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms and highly concurrent systems
  • Security detection engineering and analysis
