About the Role:
CrowdStrike Endpoint Security Platform is a two-component security product consisting of a sensor that observes system activity on client machines and a cloud component that aggregates sensor telemetry. We're seeking an Engineer III to join our growing Endpoint Security Platform cloud team. You'll contribute to designing, building, and maintaining the foundational cloud services that power our industry-leading platform, working with cutting-edge technologies including Golang, microservices architecture, and various database ecosystems. You'll work on a globally distributed, fault-tolerant, and highly scalable cloud ecosystem that supports integration of events from CrowdStrike's internal providers as well as from 3rd party integrations. What You'll Do:
- Development & Implementation: Contribute to the design and development of scalable cloud services for the Endpoint Security Platform, focusing on high-throughput event processing and real-time analysis. Write correct and clean code, consistently following best practices.
- System Integration: Develop and maintain integration points between sensor telemetry and cloud services, ensuring efficient data flow and processing across distributed systems.
- Performance & Optimization: Help tune and optimize distributed systems handling large-scale daily events, contributing to improved stability, performance, and reliability using monitoring tools like Grafana.
- Collaboration: Work closely with sensor teams, threat intelligence, and platform teams within your functional area. Proactively communicate assumptions and seek clarification to reduce rework.
- Project Ownership: Own well-defined projects within your area of expertise, contributing to technical decisions and delivering solutions to less defined tasks while contributing to shared resources and common components.
- Best Practices: Champion software engineering best practices including testing, code reviews, documentation, CI/CD, and adherence to architectural principles that promote scalability and maintainability.
- Mentorship: Support junior engineers through pair programming, design reviews, and code reviews when opportunities arise.
- Operations: Provide monitoring and operational support for production services, including participating in an on-call rotation approximately every 10-12 weeks.

- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience: 5-8 years of relevant software development experience with a focus on cloud-native architectures and distributed systems.
- Programming: Strong proficiency in at least one modern programming language such as Go (preferred), Python, Java, C++, or JavaScript.
- Experience designing and implementing scalable data processing systems
- Understanding of networking protocols, distributed systems, and layered architectures
- Familiarity with web services: JSON, REST, RPC, XML, AWS EC2 & S3
- Experience with data storage technologies: RDBMS, NoSQL, and caching technologies such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, Redis, and/or MemCache
- Understanding of CI/CD, multi-region deployment, and cloud security best practices
- Strong debugging skills and ability to identify performance bottlenecks in distributed architectures
- Strong communication skills with ability to explain technical concepts clearly
- Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively within teams
- Track record of successfully delivering technical projects on schedule
- Computer and/or network security experience/understanding
- Experience with endpoint security or threat detection systems
- Existing exposure to Go, AWS, Cassandra, Kafka, Elasticsearch, gRPC, Docker, Kubernetes
- Contributions to open source community (GitHub, Stack Overflow, blogging)
- Experience in cybersecurity or intelligence fields
