Position Overview
This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the water truck by traveling to various locations within the Willamette Valley to water the gravel and dirt roads at our plant facilities. This includes the asphalt plant, concrete plant, and wash plant. The ideal candidate will show dedication to creating great customer service (both with internal and external customers), demonstrate the ability to work both independently and part of a team, and have the willingness and drive to learn any task. By doing so, you'll play an integral role as we stand together to reinvent the way our world is built.

Wage: $25/HR

Shift: Primarily work 10 hours per day, 5 days per week. Will also be required to work more hours, per DOT regulations, and up to 6 days per week as needed during the busy construction season. This will be a seasonal position with potential to be transitioned into a full time role.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspection of vehicle to ensure safe operational order and report maintenance or repair issues.
  • Water roads and plant facilities to control dust.
  • May shovel excess materials from around conveyors and other areas generating frequent build-up.
  • Perform general clean-up and maintenance as assigned.
  • Work with grade and pave crews and place water on grade rock for compaction reasons.
  • Monitor various gauges during operation of vehicle. Investigate abnormalities. Complete written report of problems necessary repairs and forward to maintenance personnel. Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to shop personnel. Perform operator maintenance and minor field repairs.
  • Maintain vehicle in a clean and orderly condition, inside and out. Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.
  • Assist other departments in job related tasks.
  • Perform other related duties as required or directed whenever necessary.


Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Must obtain a valid Driver's License.
  • Demonstrates good internal and external customer service, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Safety minded professional who demonstrates good performance, attendance, and punctuality.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical exam and pre-employment controlled substance testing.
  • Demonstrates the ability to work overtime and weekends as needed.
  • Demonstrates the ability to conform to and maintain OSHA, MSHA, DOT and all other company or state rules and regulations.
  • Must have current US Authorization to work or ability to obtain without company assistance prior to start date.


Preferred Qualifications
  • CDL Class B with tank endorsement, or CDL A permit preferred.
  • Construction or mining experience a plus.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Our team will provide you with the PPE to stay safe on the job. However, please provide your own pair of steel-toed boots.
