Position Summary
The Ready Mix Plant Manager oversees daily operations of the Bradenton concrete plant, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality production and delivery. This leadership role includes supervising staff, managing batching operations, maintaining equipment, and driving customer satisfaction. Supported by Assistant Plant Managers, the Plant Manager fosters a culture of teamwork, safety, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Supervision
- Promote a safe and productive work environment
- Supervise, train, and coach plant personnel and drivers
- Manage daily workforce scheduling and performance
- Enforce company policies and issue discipline as needed
- Approve payroll and monitor attendance
Operations & Maintenance
- Batch concrete per mix design and job specs
- Maintain plant equipment and schedule repairs
- Coordinate raw material orders and inventory levels
- Ensure plant cleanliness and operational readiness
Safety & Environmental Compliance
- Conduct weekly safety meetings and inspections
- Maintain stormwater/spill prevention programs
- Ensure equipment maintenance and safety standards
- Assist with accident and environmental investigations
Quality Assurance
- Perform and record daily product testing
- Maintain stockpiles and moisture probe calibration
- Communicate with Quality Control on mix variations
- Keep accurate production and compliance records
Customer & Business Impact
- Collaborate with Customer Service and Sales teams
- Resolve customer issues and investigate complaints
- Track and post daily KPIs
- Represent the company professionally
Qualifications
- 1+ years of Ready Mix Concrete experience required
- Strong communication skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
- DOT Certification preferred; CDL Class A or B may be required
- Proficient in batching software, billing systems, and basic math
- Physically able to walk, climb, lift, and operate equipment
- Knowledge of local area and company products/services
- Leadership experience and problem-solving skills
- Professional appearance and conduct
