Position Overview
The Process Manager plays a critical role in advancing process performance across CRH's cement plant portfolio. Reporting to the Senior Process Leader, this role provides expert technical leadership, challenges existing practices, and drives the implementation of high-impact process improvements.
With deep expertise in cement manufacturing and a strong understanding of operational dynamics, the Process Manager partners with OpCo plant management teams to identify and deliver solutions that enhance efficiency, reduce costs, improve sustainability, and maximise profitability. The role combines hands-on diagnostic work with strategic project leadership, contributing to CRH's broader process excellence agenda while supporting the execution of global process strategies.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Act as a technical expert in core process areas (e.g., raw material preparation, grinding, pyroprocessing), providing guidance to plant teams and contributing to global process standards.
- Ensure that process area outputs consistently deliver high value and impact for CRH.
- Lead the identification, design, and implementation of process improvement initiatives across multiple plants, supported by cost-benefit analysis and ensuring alignment with CRH's operational and sustainability goals.
- Support the Senior Process Leader in executing the process strategy, contributing insights from plant-level diagnostics and improvement projects.
- Drive a culture of safety and operational excellence, ensuring all process improvements and plant operations meet CRH's safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Conduct advanced diagnostics and benchmarking, including root cause analysis, process audits, and performance testing to identify and prioritise improvement opportunities.
- Oversee major equipment commissioning, ensuring seamless integration into plant operations and achievement of performance targets.
- Contribute to CRH's global knowledge network, sharing best practices, lessons learned, and emerging technologies to drive innovation and standardisation.
- Mentor and develop plant-based process engineers, building technical capability and fostering a continuous improvement mindset across the network.
- Advise cross-functional project teams on process design for CAPEX projects.
- Support strategic initiatives, including M&A due diligence, technology scouting, and long-term process development roadmaps, as delegated by the Senior Process Leader.

Experience & Educational Requirements
- University degree (Bachelor/Master) in engineering (Mining, Process, Mechanical, Chemistry).
- Minimum 10 years' experience in cement manufacturing with experience in Cement plants and in Central/Support function.
- Excellent understanding of cement production processes: Pyro processing & Grinding.
- Solid background in Process Design.
- Ability to challenge local operation teams & managers in terms of performance and productivity.
- Have experience in cement plant commissioning role.
- Have work experience in a foreign country.
- Experience with process measurement tools and techniques is essential.
- Very good understanding of clinker chemistry and mineralogy.
- High level of knowledge and determination to support cost leadership.
- Good overview of the vendor business world in Production/Process area.
- Excellent English language skills.
