Position Overview .

The position is responsible for supporting daily operations of the equipment and fleet for the Texas Materials construction business for both North and East Texas operating areas, with a focus on safety, reliability, productivity, and cost-effectiveness. The position requires collaboration with various internal and external stakeholders. This position plays a key role in ensuring that all field and plant teams have the proper functioning equipment needed to perform their work efficiently and safely.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate inventory records of all company-owned and rented equipment, tools, and vehicles.
  • Schedule and track equipment maintenance, inspections, and repairs in coordination with mechanics and vendors.
  • Assist with equipment check-in/check-out, ensuring proper documentation and condition verification.
  • Support field and plant teams by coordinating equipment deliveries, returns, and transfers between job sites.
  • Communicate with supervisors, operators, and vendors regarding equipment needs and scheduling.
  • Maintain files, logs, and reports related to equipment utilization, service history, and compliance records.
  • Monitor and restock small tools, consumables, and safety gear as needed.
  • Assist with data entry, purchase orders, and invoices related to equipment and rentals.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies in all equipment-related activities.


Qualifications

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education/Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or technical school degree preferred.
  • Related experience in equipment coordination, fleet management, construction, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills with attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or fleet management software.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record preferred.


Knowledge/Skill Requirements
  • Proven ability to develop relationships and communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Foundational knowledge of the construction industry.
  • Highly driven to deliver results and high level of engagement across business.


Work Requirements
  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Must pass pre-employment physical, drug screen and criminal background check.
  • Strict adherence to safety requirements and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
  • Willingness to work in a team environment and assist co-workers or supervisors with other duties as required.
  • Must be willing to travel and work away from home when required.
  • Must be willing to work nights and weekends when necessary.
  • Individuals are required to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) in designated operations and production areas as stated by OSHA and/or MSHA. Protective equipment that may be required, but not limited to, for this position is: Face Shield, Safety (hard toe) Shoes, and Coveralls.
  • Compliance with all OSHA and/or MSHA regulations.


Work Environment

This position operates primarily in an office and equipment yard environment with regular interaction with field and plant operations.

  • Travel up to 30%
  • Work in a yard, shop, or field environment as needed.
