The Senior Software Engineer, ServiceNow writes and maintains code within ServiceNow to implement capabilities and features and improve performance and maintainability while reducing technical debt in alignment with product and technology roadmaps. The Senior Software Engineer, ServiceNow plays a role in Agile planning, providing advice and guidance, and monitoring emerging trends.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Work with Product Management to understand the challenges customers and end users face in their day-to-day work and partner with them to design viable solutions.
- Recommends viable solutions to processes, technology, and interfaces that improve the team's effectiveness and reduce technical debt.
- Foresees capacity requirements for component usage and identifies limitations.
- Provides input into story sizing, backlog grooming, and release planning.
- Contributes to product and solution designs to address critical issues and complex problems.
- Builds across multiple products in ServiceNow in response to the needs of stakeholders.
- Understands technical architecture and writes software and automated tests aligned with agreed-upon standards.
- Performs trouble-shooting efforts and investigations when necessary.
- Provides ongoing support, monitoring, and maintenance of deployed products.
- Actively works with less experienced software engineers providing technical guidance and oversight.
- Actively participates in the engineering community, staying up to date on new software technologies and best practices, and sharing insights with others in the organization.
- Ensure adherence to relevant technical strategies, policies, standards, and practices.
- Design, code, test, correct, and document ServiceNow scripts, workflows, triggers, and actions from agreed specifications, using agreed standards to achieve a well-engineered result.
- Take part in reviews of own work and lead reviews of colleagues' work.
- Manage ServiceNow enhancements to improve business performance.

Qualifications:
- Proficiency in ServiceNow modules such as ITSM and Service Catalog.
- Expertise in building and managing Scripted REST APIs for external system integrations.
- Hands-on experience with ServiceNow Application Development, including creating and maintaining custom applications.
- Experience with DevOps practices such as CI/CD pipelines for ServiceNow development, using tools like Git is a plus.
- Strong skills in JavaScript, Glide Scripting, and API Development.
- Strong analysis and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow development tools, including Studio, Flow Designer, Service Portal, and Virtual Agent.
- Working experience with Agile application development practices.
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and 4 years' experience in a related field. The right candidate could also have a different combination, such as a master's degree and 2 years' experience; a Ph.D. and up to 1 year of experience; or 16 years' experience in a related field.
- Certified in ServiceNow system administration and/or application development (CSA, CAD).

USD 99,000.00 - 165,000.00 per year
Compensation:
Compensation includes a base salary of $99,000.00 - $165,000.00. The base salary may vary within the anticipated base pay range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include an incentive program.
