The Impact of a Sr. Staff Accountant at Coupa:

Coupa is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing team. This role is essential for ensuring accurate financial reporting and will leverage your expertise in general ledger accounting, accrual accounting, and comprehensive month-end close processes.

• Manage daily accounting operations to ensure compliance with US GAAP, internal controls, and external audits
• Own monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes, ensuring timely and accurate financial close and reporting
• Prepare and post journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and approvals
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and perform variance analysis
• Contribute to the preparation of financial statements
• Collaborate effectively with Finance and cross-functional teams on monthly close matters
• Actively participate in and drive process optimization and automation initiatives to enhance efficiency and effectiveness within the accounting function
• Provide support for ad hoc projects, financial analysis, and reporting as needed

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in a fast-paced environment
• Deep expertise in U.S. GAAP and core accounting principles
• A self-starter mindset with the ability to work independently, coupled with excellent analytical skills and an unwavering attention to detail
• Superior organization skills, demonstrating the ability to multitask effectively and prioritize workloads, along with exceptional project and time management skills
• The agility and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Experience working with NetSuite and other modern accounting systems (FloQast is a plus)
• Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
