AI Security Intern

The primary focus of this intern role is to assist the Cybersecurity Engineering & Assurance team in identifying, analyzing, and mitigating potential security risks associated with AI systems. The individual will collaborate with team members to implement security protocols and monitor AI applications to ensure they are secure and compliant with industry standards.

Position is in Santa Monica or Dublin, CA office or Austin, Texas(remote) for a term of 6 months.

In this role you will:

• Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in the development of security best practices and guidelines for AI development and deployment.
• Assist in the identification and assessment of security vulnerabilities in AI models and systems.
• Collaborate with the Engineering team to develop and implement security measures and protocols.
• Monitor AI systems and applications for potential security threats and anomalies.
• Perform basic reporting on security incidents, vulnerabilities, and mitigation actions.
• Promote security awareness and policy guidance to ensure user understanding and adherence

• Currently pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Foundational knowledge of cybersecurity risks, principles and concepts.
• Basic understanding of AI and machine learning concepts.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• High organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
• Design AI-driven response systems to automate threat mitigation and reduce reaction times

• Experience with security tools and software (a plus).
