Summary:
This position is an entry level position for an RN responsible for the educational program within a defined clinical area. This RN will serve as a role model, change agent, and facilitator while assessing learning needs in planning, implementing, and evaluating educational activities. The Education Coordinator collaborates with teams to ensure that educational activities are congruent with the strategic goals and promise of Cook Children's, as well as with contemporary health care trends. This RN maintains exemplary professional interpersonal communication skills, collaborates well with teams, and demonstrates good customer relation skills. The Education Coordinator demonstrates sound clinical judgement and strong critical thinking abilities while striving to enhance the quality of patient care through orientation and staff development opportunities and continuing education opportunities.
Education/Certification/Licensure:
- Minimum of three years clinical experience in Urgent Care, Critical Care and/or ED experience required.
- Prior teaching experience preferred.
- Texas Registered Nurse.
- BLS.
- PALS.
- BSN required.
- Hold graduate degree in nursing, education, or related field, or must be enrolled in graduate program within 12 months of hire (and make consistent progress).
