Summary:
Assist pharmacy management in the coordination of pharmacy services provided by technicians through leadership, training, and overseeing workflow. This position will also assure that pharmacy services comply with policies and procedures of the pharmacy department, state, and federal regulations. The Lead technician should be familiar with procurement practices, including but not limited to purchase of drugs, policy in regards to borrowing/loaning medication, and charging/crediting patient doses. Must be competent in retail pharmacy, nonsterile compounding, prior authorization, and patient financial assistance operations. The Lead Pharmacy Technician models providing the optimal patient experience for staff technicians. Must be able to maintain pharmacy automation in relation to medication preparation under the supervision of a registered pharmacist.

Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent.
- A minimum of 3 years' experience in a retail pharmacy and gained independent skills in advanced areas of retail pharmacy operations.
- Application of computer technology and demonstrable skills with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) required.
- Leadership experience preferred.
- Knowledge of math, the metric system, pharmaceutical chemistry, and medical terminology is essential.
Certification/Licensure:
- Pharmacy Technician Certification (CPhT) OR enrolled in ACPE accredited school of pharmacy.
- Texas State Board of Pharmacy Technician Registration OR Texas Pharmacy Intern License.
- PTCB Advanced Pharmacy Technician Certification preferred
