Summary:
The role of the Pharmacy Technician II is to assist pharmacists in providing professional pharmacy services to the patients and staff of Cook Children's Retail Pharmacy and the community we serve. Clerical tasks will encompass the process of recording, filing and reporting pharmacy activities and services. The technician will assume progressively technical tasks as experience is gained and necessary skills and competence are demonstrated. All tasks will be performed under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This role is committed to maintaining the highest standards of safety, regulatory compliance, and performance improvement within a fast-paced pediatric healthcare environment.
Qualifications:
- 2 years of retail pharmacy experience with proficiency in medication preparation and dosage calculations, insurance processing, and inventory management
- Basic knowledge of math, the metric system, chemistry, and medical terminology
- General knowledge of office procedures such as filling and record keeping
- High School Diploma
- Current Texas State Board of Pharmacy Registration or Texas Pharmacy Intern License
