Summary:
The Pharmacy Inpatient Buyer assists the Pharmacist in providing professional pharmacy services to the patients and staff of Cook Children's Medical Center and the community we serve.
• peration and maintenance of the central pharmacy purchasing function and inventory control to meet customer needs and assure high quality services and products in the most cost-effective manner.
- Must have current knowledge of safety regulations in the department and in the implementation of new policies and procedures.
- Proficient knowledge of operating system software, desktop applications such as excel, power point, etc., and pharmacy information system applications as they relate to pharmacy process workflow.
- Good telephone skills and good oral communication skills are essential.
- Must be able to communicate effectively, both oral and written.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize and problem solve.
- A general knowledge of office procedures such as filing and record keeping is essential.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required, Associate's degree preferred.
- 5+ years' experience as a pharmacy technician preferred.
- A basic knowledge of math, the metric system, chemistry, and medical terminology is essential.
- Operate and maintain annual competency in all four production areas, including PO, IV, Narcotics, and Satellites.
- Current PTCB Pharmacy Technician certification & current Texas State Board Registration.
