Summary:
Cook Children's is seeking a Maternal Fetal Medicine Advanced Practice Provider (AAP) to join our clinic in Abilene, Texas. The Maternal Fetal Medicine Advanced Practice Provider (APP), which may include Nurse Practitioners (NP's), Physician Assistants (PA's), or Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) functions in a collaborative practice to deliver specialized care to high-risk obstetric patients under the direction and supervision of MFM physicians. Autonomously performs patient assessment, diagnosis, and intervention according to approved protocols. Supports physician to develop and maintain patients. Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to provide high risk adjunctive prenatal care and consulting, coordinate diagnostic testing, and manage complex maternal and fetal conditions. Provides office coverage for physician(s) during periods of absence.

Education & Experience
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses
Master's Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
Primary Care or Women's Health Experience highly preferred
Physician Assistants
Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies strongly preferred
Primary Care or Women's Health Experience highly preferred
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses
Current Texas professional registered nurse license
Current Texas professional advance practice registered nurse license
Recognition from the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners as an Advanced Practice Nurse
Certification Family Practice Nurse Practitioner OR Nurse Midwife
Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
Intermediate to Advanced AWHONN Fetal Monitoring required within the first year of hire
Physician Assistants
Current Texas professional physician assistant license
Recognition from the Texas State Medical Board as a Physician Assistant.
Certification as a Physician Assistant PA-C required.
Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required
Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
Intermediate to Advanced AWHONN Fetal Monitoring required within the first year of hire
