Summary:
Cook Children's is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our Pediatric Gynecology Clinic in Fort Worth. The NP/PA functions in a collaborative practice with physician(s) providing comprehensive patient care and management of female reproductive health, primarily in the outpatient setting but occasionally in the hospital setting. Autonomously provides comprehensive patient care focused on the diagnosis, non-surgical and surgical management of the pediatric and adolescent gynecology patient according to approved protocols. May assist in the OR setting and provide call coverage depending on department needs. Prescribes a variety of modalities to meet gynecological needs, including reproductive tract anomalies, delayed puberty, menstrual bleeding, and ovarian masses. Serves as role model and resource to clinical personnel.
Education/Experience:
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses
• Master's Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse.
• Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience or related specialized area strongly preferred.
Physician Assistants
• Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies strongly preferred
• Minimum of two years Pediatric primary/specialty or acute care setting experience OR 2 years' experience in related allied health field (i.e. family practice setting with heavy component of pediatric patients) strongly preferred.
Certification/Licensure:

Advanced Practice Registered Nurses
• Current Texas professional registered nurse license
• Current Texas professional advance practice registered nurse license
• Recognition from the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners as an Advanced Practice Nurse
• Certification as Pediatric or Family Practice Nurse Practitioner
• Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
Physician Assistants
• Current Texas professional physician assistant license
• Recognition from the Texas State Medical Board as a Physician Assistant.
• Certification as a Physician Assistant PA-C required.
• Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required
• Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) preferred
* PALS certification is required when assigned to Anesthesiology, Care Team, Complex Care, Fostering Health, H/O, and Neurology departments.
