Summary:
The Cook Children's Hospitalist Team is comprised of approximately 38 physicians and 12 advanced practice providers (APPs), including Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants, who work collaboratively to provide comprehensive inpatient care for pediatric patients with a wide range of diagnoses.
Position Summary
The Hospitalist APP will admit and manage pediatric patients performing thorough histories and physicals, formulating treatment plans, interpreting diagnostic tests, and addressing questions or concerns from patients, families, and bedside staff. This role offers the opportunity to practice in a team-oriented environment with strong collaboration between APPs, physicians, nursing, and ancillary staff.

Education and Experience
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses
Master's Degree in Nursing as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and Family or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Certification required. Minimum 2 years of pediatric nursing experience or related specialized area strongly preferred.

Physician Assistants
Master's Degree in Physician Assistant Studies and a minimum 1 year of experience in related specialized areas strongly preferred.
Licensure, Registration, and/or Certification
Advanced Practice Registered Nurses
Current Texas professional registered nurse license
Current Texas professional advanced practice registered nurse license
Certified as a Family or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner required
Current Basic Life Support (CPR) required
Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) required
