Summary:
This position is a Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) or Registered Nurse (RN) that is a certified asthma educator with 3 years clinical experience and 2 years education/training experience. This person is responsible for the planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient and family asthma and tracheostomy education for Cook Children's Health Care System. This individual is skilled at working with patients and families with health literacy challenges. Responsibilities include bedside education for patients and families, staff education and competency validation for tracheostomy care, and involvement on quality improvement and process improvement process teams that address evidence-based improvements for asthma and tracheostomy care.

Monday - Friday 8am - 5pm
Salaried position.
Education/Certification/Licensure:
- Registered Nurse (RN) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) required.
- 3 years clinical experience required.
- 2 years education/training experience required.
- Certified Ashtma Educator required.
- Baccalaureate degree, master's in education, health literacy, adult learning, or related field strongly preferred.
- PALS required.
- CPR required.
