Summary:

The Development Database Coordinator is responsible for organizing and maintaining the donor database at Cook Children's Health Foundation. The coordinator provides reports, lists, data analytics and exports in support of fundraising efforts. The Coordinator works closely with the gift processing team, development researcher and other foundation staff, identifying needs and developing solutions to streamline operations and provide fundraising support. The coordinator manages a constituent database of approximately 130,000 records, and is responsible for the creation and maintenance of campaigns, funds, appeals, memberships and events within the database.

The Database Coordinator is part of Advancement Services and is responsible for meeting information needs for all programs within Cook Children's Health Foundation (including Annual Giving, Major Gifts and Donor Relations) to ensure that solicitations, gift management and stewardship are adequately supported and expand as fundraising results increase. Maintaining accurate donor records is critical to financial reporting, donor stewardship and protecting the public trust.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree OR equivalent relevant computer training is preferred.
  • Extensive computer database management experience with Raiser's Edge software and reporting tools, and 2 years of non-profit development experience is required.
  • Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office is required.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a nonprofit fundraising environment with knowledge of the donor cultivation process and direct mail is highly preferred.
  • Prior supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Project Management and Process Improvement skills and experience preferred.
  • Communication skills, particularly in translating business objectives into transactional terms and the reverse, are essential.
  • Must be able to make independent decisions regarding best practices for database health.
