Summary:
A Supervisor Desktop Engineer Supervisor is a people and technical leader within the Desktop Engineering family developing and applies technical expertise in multiple IT disciplines that support Cook Children's technical infrastructure. Jobs in this family are responsible for developing, testing, maintaining, installing, and/or deploying technologies. In addition, they are responsible for the establishment, development, and promotion of standard architectures, as well as hardware and software components.
This role often works with IS professionals in other IS departments providing assistance in resolving complex issues affecting systems and/or applications. The Supervisor's duties include supporting desktop and laptop Windows based operating systems, computer hardware troubleshooting, application monitoring and support, system based monitoring utilizing respective enterprise level monitoring tools, system imaging utilizing enterprise level tools, network and Desktop tier-1 and tier-2 level troubleshooting, mentorship of junior level desktop engineering staff, purchasing and fiscal responsibility, vendor management, daily oversight of operations, and oversight of system replacement and spare part hardware components, desktop technology innovation and leading and pursing new technologies and directions for Cook Children's.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, business or other related field with 8 years' experience in an enterprise environment or HS diploma or GED and 8 years job experience with 4 years in an equivalent supervisory role in an enterprise environment
