Senior Regional Category Manager - Purchasing

Job Description
Manage a team of procurement professionals to support Freight & Warehouse and Facility Management in North America. This includes all business units and locations for Continental in North America.

Work together with the global procurement team to develop strategy, drive savings, and ensure compliance with adherence to Continental policies and procedures.

Support regional and local F&W and FM managers on strategy, contract negotiation, drive savings and ensure compliance with all policies and procedures.

Support, guide and advise the procurement team to develop strategies, set goals, develop talent, help to set priorities, and conduct regular meetings and reviews.

Support the NA NPM Director to achieve goals, set strategy, and ensure compliance. Assist with short and long term strategy and goals, workshop planning, and direction on maintaining optimal performance of the NPM team.

Participate in regular management calls with NA NPM tams and with global NPM management and team members.

Direct supplier performance management for F&W and FM suppliers while also assisting with any conflict resolution.

Advice and review purchasing projects, decisions, and contracts.

Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelors degree in business, engineering, supply chain management or other related field
  • 10+ years of experience in a related field
  • 5+ years of experience in purchasing
  • 3+ years of logistics experience
  • 3+ plus years of direct management of other team members
  • Experience in international / matrix organizations
  • Internal qualified candidates will meet internal guidelines for this executive level role
  • Fluent in English
  • Able to travel domestically and internationally 30% of the time
