Position Summary

Main job functions

To support the Product and Process Industrialisation activities across the plant. To identify and implement process & continuous improvement activities. Review departmental KPI's to establish corrective and preventative measures are established for manufacturing processes. To support the implementation and establishing of process parameters to handover to Production. Monitor and Contribute to Statistical Process Control using six sigma techniques.

Perform operational duties and interface with other departments to ensure processes and procedures are effectively communicated.

Provide effective project management of Improvement projects.

Promote Best Practice in the manufacturing areas.

Support in measuring of departmental KPI's to help achieve business targets.

Provide and act upon Statistical Process Control analysis to identify trends and determine root causes.

Provide support towards Production when situations arise.

Support in the creation and maintaining of Manufacturing Instructions, documents and Procedures.

Support in time and motion studies to optimise Process Operation Routings

Deputise the PPI Manager in periods of absence.

Maintain records and databases to provide information necessary for the effective operation of the PPI teams and for use by other departments.

Encourage a culture of right first time and continuous improvement.

Proactive approach to problem solving.

Collaboration across departments for the hand over of Process, tooling, process specifications and work instructions to Production for new products and processes.

Maintain effective communications within and with other departments, ensuring that everyone is kept informed of the department and business performance and their impact on it.

Maintain effective communications with other departments, ensuring that latest changes in processes and product developments are effectively communicated and implemented in the product areas.

Ensure customer requirements are clearly identified and communicated.

Qualifications
Qualifications / Skills Required

Computer literate in MS office applications.

Lean Manufacturing Principles / Six Sigma

Project Management Experience

Education to Bachelor's Degree level - Mechanical / Process / Improvement related field desirable or extensive experience in similar role

Experience Required

Minimum of 5 years' experience in production, process or quality related functions.

Success in challenging existing situations, implementing improvements and bringing about effective change.

Proactive and self-motivated to lead themselves and contribute to drive the business forward.

Overcoming resistance to change

Knowledge Required

Experience in Manufacturing Processes / Process Control knowledge.

SAP Knowledge Preferable

Rubber / Calendaring Knowledge Preferable

Trouble shooting / Lean Manufacturing / Six sigma and problem-solving techniques.
