Position Summary

This is a part-time position expected to work 20 hours per week. This individual will be required to work in the Rochester, NY office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays with additional days, as necessary.

The Legal Coordinator is responsible for facilitating changes to legal documents relating to our 400+ beer distributors and managing data re same. This individual works directly with distributors and internal departments (e.g., Sales) to facilitate distributor transitions and all related communications, changes to contract documentation, brand label registration and other legal requirements related to our Beer portfolio. The competitive landscape continues to evolve, triggering distributor acquisitions, expansion of our brand portfolio, and increased cross-functional collaboration, all which serves to enhance the need for a detailed-oriented change agent in this position.

Responsibilities

This role includes management of distributor contract documentation, distributor to distribution changes, brand label registration, distributor information management, and distributor territory mapping. Specifically:

  • Distributor contract management: Draft, maintain, amend, and track distributor contracts and related amendments.
  • Distributor transition/changes: Work closely with Sales to facilitate 25+/year distributor to distributor transitions. This process requires sending/reviewing/drafting distributor applications, releases and terminations, relinquishment letters, conditional approval letters, and transition process decision tools.
  • Manage transition approvals from Sales, Credit, Pricing, Regulatory, Legal, Trade Marketing, Supply Chain, and Data & Analytics to facilitate timely transition. Relentlessly follow-up to ensure timelines are met.
  • Work with Data & Analytics team to update internal systems for sales hierarchy, customer changes, creations, and terminations so that updated customer information flow into all sales tools.
  • Accurately complete distributor filings & state territory forms for fourteen states, multiple times per year, working directly with our distributor partners
  • In conjunction with Geographic Expansion Market (GEM) process, ensure distributor agreements reflect the addition of new products. This includes amending documents and coordinating distributor review and execution.
  • Assist with negotiating resolution to distributor territory conflicts or changes requested by distributors to certain documentation
  • Ensure distributor territory mapping on file remains current following distributor transitions and changes to include Beer, BioSteel, Ventures, C&S, and other projects.
  • Collaborate with IT and Sales Execution to plan for Compass to show territory maps.
  • Manage Customer Information Management (CIM) application and maintain distributor contact information to make available to Sales on an ongoing basis.

Reporting Relationship

  • Reports directly to the Vice President, Associate General Counsel

Qualifications

  • High energy, detail-oriented, self-starter, with strong work-ethic is foundational for success in this position.
  • Bachelor's degree or an AB with job equivalent experience is required with a minimum of 2-3 years of relevant experience.
  • Ability to adapt, follow-through, and adhere to standard process, while seeking paths to process-improvement.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills necessary to manage large amounts of distributor information, i.e., Gold Network consists of over 400 distributors.
  • Highly detail-oriented and dedicated to mitigating risk by following processes.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to develop relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Experience in process management, network tools (e.g., Salesforce, cloud-based apps).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required.
  • Knowledge of the distributor environment, alcohol beverage industry, and Constellation Beer Division product portfolio and operations is a plus.

Experience working in a legal, government/ US Military administrative environment is a plus.

The salary range for this role is:
$29.65 - $43.56

This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. Our compensation is based on cost of labor.
