Job Description

Position Summary

Under general supervision, provide and ensure Quality Services operational support during production process. Validate compliance to product specifications and adherence to GMP's through routine chemical analyses on wines, juices, concentrates, spirits, and other Company products. Communicate with and provide feedback to production team members to facilitate process improvement.

This is a Temporary position from August to November

Responsibilities

• Perform accurate routine and advanced chemical and physical analysis on wines, juices, concentrates and other company products.
• Prepare reagents and standard solutions.
• Assist the research and development department by providing analysis as needed.
• Sample tanks and barrels for analyses
• Calibrate all laboratory equipment
• Run control checks on equipment to ensure it is working properly
• Performs typical lab analyses with accuracy, precision, timeliness in accordance with SOPs
• Maintain lab and equipment cleanliness and a safe, sanitary working environment.
• Adhere to and promote safety in accordance with policies and procedures. Report issues to Supervisor in a timely manner
• Promote teamwork among the lab staff and all winery personnel.
• Assist with analytical lab duties as instructed by Sr. Laboratory Technician or Manager
• Cross-train on other lab duties
• Special projects and other responsibilities as assigned

• High School Diploma/GED
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions/directions
• Ability to prioritize and multi-task
• Must be able to recognize potential problems that require solutions to be found at a higher level
• Ability to develop general proficiency with all laboratory equipment
• Basic writing and mathematical skills
• Basic skill level in using computer applications (Excel, Work, Outlook)
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions/directions
• Able to work a flexible schedule with overtime as requested, including weekends and off shifts.

• 0-2 Years' Laboratory Experience
• Knowledge of analytical procedures
• Associates Degree in a science related field
• Familiarity with JDE/SAP, Access, Intelex and Intellepac

• The lab presents a unique environment that requires performing tasks of a repetitious nature, the ability to change job priorities and the need for speed, accuracy and precision to ensure the highest quality standards.

• Works outdoors/indoors.
• Works in warm/cold climates.
• Works in high places.
• Works on wet surfaces.
• Is exposed to loud noise, fumes and/or toxic chemicals.
• Works near moving, mechanical parts and lift truck traffic.
• Must be able to move up to 55lbs.
• Primary office environment may be warehouse/distribution setting.
