The Treasury Back Office is a fast-moving environment within Treasury, responsible for ensuring that all approved payments/transfers are processed promptly and accurately within published timeframes and that appropriate procedures have been complied with. The team utilises various systems and banking platforms and is responsible for the running and maintenance of 3 commercial Bacs Bureaus with relation to the payment of bulk payment files and the setting up and administering of Direct Debit payments. They are also responsible for bulk SEPA payment files and both manual "keyed" instructions, or the "authorisation" of instructions received from other departments, along with card payments. The team are responsible for processing payments to a value in Excess £160 billion annually.

The Treasury Back Office Senior Manager - EMEA provides leadership and direction primarily to the EMEA Treasury Back Office team as well as the wider EMEA Treasury team, creating an environment which achieves consistently high levels of performance, accountability, and colleague engagement. As a member of the Regional Treasury Management team, they will provide insight and updates on operational activity for the region ensuring collaboration across the treasury function in order to deliver an optimal service.

The Treasury Back Office Manager -EMEA must guarantee the highest level of compliance with all regulations across several jurisdictions while looking to evolve the team's processes through technological solutions and adhering to stakeholders SLAs.

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for all payment processes allowing all payments to be delivered on time, every time.
  • Regionally represent Treasury Back Office and face off to Senior Management within that region.
  • Manage the day-to-day Treasury Back Office function for EMEA.
  • Assist in the development of the payment strategy and architecture for both the EMEA region and how these plays in to the Global strategy.
  • Lead and contribute to range of projects, providing subject matter expertise and assigning resource as required.
  • Establish and cultivate relationships with senior key stakeholders with collaboration to ensure processes and controls are adhered to and understood.
  • Liaise and collaborate with other regions Treasury Back Office to ensure alignment of processes and adherence to global best practice.
  • Keep up to date with any industry and/or regulatory changes affecting Treasury Back Office to ensure the company is compliant.
  • Ensure compliance with all regulation and internal procedures while safeguarding the risk management and control environment.
  • Supervision, training and appraisal of staff.
  • Maintenance and review of Treasury Back Office policies and procedures.
  • Systems and process development, improving the efficiency/effectiveness of Treasury Back Office activities and the payment unfractured in general.
  • Ensure compliance with Operational Risk/Control/Audit requirements, ensuring access to team folders and platforms is controlled. Full and active participation in both internal and external (BACS) audits with successful resolution of queries raised and timely reporting of any identified regulatory breaches.

What will you bring to the role?

  • Minimum 7 years treasury experience
  • Strong knowledge of the financial services industry
  • Knowledge of the application of the relevant regulations (CASS, CAR).
  • SME for treasury and payment types/methods as well as a range of products and services provided by Computershare across the region
  • Exposure in leading, developing and engaging professionals to create high performing teams
