Payroll is part of the Global People Team and operates within a shared service environment delivering a range of related systems and services.

Payroll is a business-critical operation and requires working at pace, subject matter competence, operational compliance, and customer service to fulfil its obligations. It touches on every aspect of the business in terms of paying people and time challenges are faced every pay cycle and annual basis.

The Senior Payroll Administrator is a cross-functional role, responsible for providing consistent payroll service and support to all locations and business units across the North America payroll department. The role will ensure accurate and timely preparation, reconciliation and processing of the company's bi-weekly payrolls, provide excellent customer service, with a focus on ensuring a positive and seamless employee experience.

  • Prepares, reviews, and reconciles the company's bi-weekly payrolls.
  • Ensure compliance with the agreed processes and identify areas of process or system improvement.
  • Processes withholdings, deductions, wage garnishments, or other special payroll actions and changes affecting net wages.
  • Ensures payroll issues are escalated and resolved with root cause analysis and corrective action for all levels of employees and management.
  • Demonstrates a full understanding of applicable wage policies, procedures and work methods associated with assigned duties.
  • Maintains current knowledge of city, state, provincial, local, and federal tax frameworks
  • Ability to plan and prioritize tasks and deadlines.
  • Contribute to the attainment of team KPIs and SLA measures.
  • Must always be able to observe etiquette and deliver an excellent standard of customer service.
  • Effectively manage business enquiries including more sensitive employee and or complex payroll matters.
  • Performs related duties as assigned and completes any other tasks necessary for administering a company's payroll process.

What will you bring to the role?

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of US payroll, including detailed tax knowledge.
  • Knowledge of payroll systems.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in working as part of a larger team and in a Shared Service environment requiring collaboration across a number of different teams and functions.
  • Experience in working within a diverse team. Must have strong interpersonal skills, maintaining a professional demeanor and understanding the pressures and priorities which may be affecting other team members.
  • Experienced in working across multiple payroll entities.
  • Experience engaging with third party vendors and US tax authorities.
  • Shared Service Environment experience requiring collaboration across different teams and functions.
  • Participate and contribute to team initiatives/ objectives.
