Computershare has an exciting opportunity for a permanent full-time Quality Engineer with a focus on Test Automation to join our Computershare Communication Services (CCS) team.

A role you will love

As the Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for undertaking functional software testing to ensure that the level of quality delivered aligns with the organisational risk appetite through test analysis, design, implementation and execution, in line with agreed plans and strategies.
You'll also work with cross-functional teams, and require agile testing knowledge, technical and programming skills, curiosity, a passion for delivering high quality software solutions and the drive to continually improve the quality and speed with which we deliver value to the business.

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Driving Test Automation Initiatives across the CCS US Teams.
  • Leading, collaborating and coordinating the overall Test Automation effort with Developers and Quality Engineers to delivery automated features and enhancements for business usage.
  • Communicating effectively with a variety of technical and non-technical audiences to share Test Automation knowledge, ideas and solutions.
  • Actively participating in creating, maintaining and executing API, UI, Integration, and Batch Processing test automation scripts via IDE interfaces and Azure DevOps platform.
  • Working closely with Developers and Quality Engineers to analyse and identify what to 'Automate' from business requirements and test basis for covering new functionality, Regression Testing and Smoke Testing.
  • Performing and applying risk analysis to assess likelihood and impact of software failure to define the optimum breadth and depth of test coverage.
  • Taking part in debugging and identifying incorrect logic and issues with 'Failed' Test Automation Scripts for continuous improvement.
  • Undertaking reviews to identify defects and ambiguities in requirements, designs, specifications & test cases
  • Contributing to Test Automation Processes and Practices to help streamline team work and improve efficiency.
  • Supporting the QA Team of Test Automation enquiries and resolving troubleshooting events.

What will you bring to the role?

You have strong Quality Engineering and Software Testing expertise with hands-on experience in analyzing designs & specifications, assessing risk, defining test cases, identifying test data requirements, mapping traceability to requirements, executing tests, investigating issues, reporting risks, logging bugs, capturing test evidence, and reporting on test progress.

You'll also bring:

  • 3+ years of related experience working in a QA/QE role or specialist Test Automation role
  • 3+ years of technical experience with Test Automation Frameworks, tools and technologies
  • Strong knowledge and experience in industry standard software testing techniques & tools including best testing practices in an agile methodology.
  • Experience working with a code repository such as GIT for tracking Automation platform changes and version control with IDE interfaces and Azure DevOps platform.
  • Experience conducting code reviews with Developers and Quality Engineer peers
  • Fundamental knowledge with programming languages and open source Test Automation Framework technologies - C#, Selenium and Behaviour-Driven Development (BDD) - Specfloweqroll (Given\Whenhen) concepts.
  • Proficient with IDE interfaces (Visual Studio) for maintaining and capturing Test Automation scripts and integrating with complied programming libraries
  • Familiar understanding of Azure DevOps (ADO) Services and Interface components
  • Experience with providing solutions to improve Test Automation practices and lifecycle developments
  • Familiarity with implementing Azure DevOps services, processes and features for Test Automation execution and CI/CD delivery.
  • Awareness of Test Automation design patterns, feature files, step definition, page objects, binding files, browser drivers, plugins, API connectivity and test data integration
  • Solid technical experience with integrating SOAP/REST API structure and formats with Test Automation solutions.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, or related discipline
  • Additional Quality Assurance/Quality Engineering qualifications
  • ISTQB Foundation Certified Tester
  • Experience in financial services, mortgage servicing, share registry or employee share plan industries
  • Test Automation Platform engagement (intermediate level)

Compensation. The typical base pay range for this role is $73,000-$95,000 per year USD.
