As one of our Public Cloud Engineers you will work with the technology department and be responsible for designing, implementing and maintaining scalable and secure public cloud solutions that support the organizations digital platforms and automation strategy.

In this role, you will focus on hands-on engineering of cloud-native infrastructure, leveraging platforms such as AWS and Azure to enhance business agility, operational efficiency, and platform reliability.
Other key responsibilities:
- Designing and deploying public cloud infrastructure on platforms such as AWS and Azure, adhering to architectural standards and best practices.
- Implementing cloud-native solutions, including AI services, edged based load balancers, virtual private cloud networks, git pipelines (CI/CD), serverless computing, and storage services, to support business applications.
- Ensuring cloud environments are secure, compliant, and optimized for performance and cost.
- Supporting the implementation of container platforms, such as Kubernetes, by deploying and testing cloud-based containerized workloads.
- Working closely with platform engineering, security, networking, and DevOps teams to ensure cloud solutions integrate seamlessly.
What will you bring to the role?
As this position sits within a technical function, you will need to have experience working in a similar role, preferably within a large-scale enterprise environment i.e. financial services.
You will need be a collaborative person with excellent stakeholder management and communication skills to be able to build great working relationships, influence others, challenge effectively and respond well to challenges.
Some other key skills that you'll have:
- Expert knowledge of Cloud Platforms including both AWS and Azure.
- A strong understanding of architecture & security within Cloud environments.
- Excellent stakeholder management and engagement skills.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrable experience of working within technology functions and working effectively across multiple teams.
- Any certifications in Cloud Technologies would be beneficial.
- Experience with enterprise scale landing zones
- Hybrid cloud environments
- AWS and Azure policies
- General knowledge of IAM in AWS and Azure
- Strong knowledge of Infrastructure as Code e.g. Terraform
