A role you will love
The Manager - Administration Oil Royalties leads a team that handles the department of Land Administration in the Provinces of Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba. This role monitors the workflow to ensure work volumes are handled effectively. This role also assists with the establishment of policies and procedures with audit and ensures department expectations and standards are maintained.

- Provides assistance, guidance and support to approximately 6 full-time staff in Professional roles, reviewing and verifying their work and providing advice and direction to ensure that work is performed accurately and within reasonable time frames
- Provides support and direction in the administration and operations of freehold mineral & royalty lands
- Provides support and direction in the billing and collection of mineral tax payments
- Conducts file research particularly in areas of complex matters involving unique situations and/or difficult clients that have been escalated from staff.
- Communicates and consults with petroleum land personnel, lawyers, consultants and unit holders in addressing inquiries of all types, particularly those of a more complex nature.
- Reviews and verifies the analysis and allocation of new royalties ensuring that the allocations are correct and the payments complete.
- Reviews and approves deposit and journal entries prepared by others in the department. Approves, verifies and signs royalty certificates. Approves, verifies and signs various forms of land documentation.
- Assists in the audit and approves the work of others in the department, particularly during staff absences, special projects or during busy season. Audit and approves holder transfers of royalty certificates.
- Plans, coordinates and assists with special projects (for example, procedure manuals, staff training) as required.

Other key skills required for the role include:
- 3-5 years of experience of progressively responsible and client service experience in financial or oil and gas environment.
- University degree preferably in Commerce, Finance, or Business Administration.
- CAPLA certification or equivalent business experience
- Intermediate to advanced knowledge of royalty trust administration
- Specialized knowledge of the land and leasing process
- Knowledge of PC applications (Microsoft) is required
- Ability to lead a team to reach departmental and corporate objectives
- Attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Flexible within a constantly changing environment
- Ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
