The Counter Administrator is responsible for communicating helpful, clear, and concise information to external and internal clients in a friendly, professional, and courteous manner while maintaining strict confidentiality.

As the face of Computershare, the Counter Administrator must represent our company's vision and values. Since the counter serves as customers' initial point of contact with Computershare, the Administrator must constantly be on available to welcome, acknowledge, and help customers as well as uphold a tidy workspace and professional manner.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Always maintain a clean and inviting workspace environment and present self in a professional manner
  • Understand the urgency of servicing clients in a precise and in a timely manner
  • Provides relevant and accurate information to brokers, shareholders, internal and other clients at the counter in a courteous and professional manner
  • Ensures that sensitive information is only provided to authorized individuals
  • Screens submissions at the counter to determine their accuracy and completeness. These include, but are not limited to transfers, corporate actions, dividend reinvestment, estates, etc.
  • Communicates submission deficiencies and provides resolutions to the presenter, as necessary
  • Ensures that all processing is completed accurately and in line with specific service standards and/or client expectations
  • Available to work shifts and overtime on weeknights and weekends as required
  • Communicates verbally and in writing accurately and timely regularly
  • Organizes and prioritizes work to ensure timely completion of responsibilities.
  • Ability to multi-task between daily operational duties and projects as assigned.
  • Provides service to internal clients promptly in accordance with the specific request and stated expectations
  • Identifies potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk and suggests resolutions to mitigate future occurrences
  • Performs, where applicable, business testing of systems/applications
  • Works independently and within a group setting to accomplish personal and team goals.
  • Cross-trains between various operational units and is required to apply gained knowledge daily
  • Ensures full compliance with all business, risk & operational practices

What will you bring to the role?

  • Post-secondary education is preferred
  • Canadian Securities Course and/or Trust Institute course is optional but preferred
  • Knowledge of the Canadian Securities Industry, preferably from a Stock Transfer perspective preferred
  • Strong Microsoft Office experience, in particular Word, Excel, and SharePoint
  • 1-year experience in stock transfer or securities industry preferred.
  • 2-3 years of customer service experience is an asset

The typical base pay range for this role is $40,000 - $43,000. This base pay range is specific to Vancouver, British Columbia and may not be applicable to other locations. This range reflects our good faith effort to pay fairly based on our job evaluation of this role and we tailor our offers within the range based on the selected candidate's relevant knowledge, skills, experience, and other job-related factors.
