Computershare has an exciting opportunity for a Category Director to join our Technology Services Team, based in Bristol, London or Edinburgh.
We are looking for an experienced and accomplished individual to take on this role, to be responsible for providing procurement support, negotiating with third-party suppliers for all technology goods and services which supports all our business units and functions throughout Computershare, across all global locations.

A role you will love
As our Category Director, you will be responsible for leading global vendor management efforts by building deep expertise within the technology categories aligned to SaaS and software to drive value and cost savings from our supply chain.
One of the most important parts of your role is being tasked with making Computershare more attractive for suppliers to do business with and will steer Computershare Vendor Management towards becoming a source of competitive advantage, innovation and risk management in addition to operational and cost control.
Other key responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the CTS VM SaaS & Software category function - and support the building of a high performing CTS VM team (recruitment, training, staffing, and retention) overall.
- Lead cross-functional and/or cross-regional teams to develop and execute category strategies and management plan for assigned categories.
- Drive continuous improvement mindset within the responsible category/categories.
- Directly engage with suppliers on multiple levels (conduct negotiations, select suppliers, and administer contracts, define a set of supplier performance KPIs and proactively hold performance dialogues).
- Build strong and lasting relationship with business stakeholders (drive alignment with key stakeholders on category and sourcing strategies, drive overall reduction in total cost of ownership).
What will you bring to the role?
We are looking for an experienced individual to take on this role, ideally coming from a Procurement & Vendor management background with a strong Technology & Financial Services element.
Relationship building is key in this role, as you will be working closely with senior stakeholders, the wider technology teams, and our vendors. You will need to be a strong decision maker; you will work with the team and stakeholders to make business critical decisions while listening to everyone's inputs.
Some other key skills that you'll have:
- Expert knowledge of Category strategies (for technology goods and services, especially SaaS and Software) and the associated supplier landscape.
- Previously developed and implemented global Category strategies in alignment with business.
- Previously operated as a senior technology Category Director / Procurement Manager in a global organisation, managing a spend of approximately USD $50m up to USD $250M.
- Broad knowledge and awareness of relevant legislative and regulatory requirements as well as understanding of standard contractual terms and conditions to mitigate risk.
- Highly experienced in solving complex problems and scenario modelling with multiple data sources and inputs
- Excellent stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
