- Strategic management. Develop, deliver and maintain business plans ensuring alignment with Mission Systems' strategic, business, operational objectives and priorities. Taking a long-term strategic view of future directions identifying emerging issues and developing strategies to position Collins Aerospace to meet and take advantage of future challenges and opportunities.
- Critical thinking and judgement. Thinking broadly and holistically about the issues related to Australian Defence capabilities and government authorities, the industry and related forums - with a focus on growth from an enterprise perspective.
- Relationship and Stakeholder management. Effectively represent Collins Aerospace and proactively develop constructive relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including Government, industry and regulatory bodies; building trusted and constructive relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to understand needs, identify issues and deliver on commitments.
- Business/operational management. Model company Values, welcome diversity and enable inclusion, as you work to drive operational effectiveness and simplification in the delivery of the organisation's ongoing business and change initiatives.
- Operational leadership experience as a general manager or senior leader, with full P&L accountability.
- Applying strategic vision and critical thinking to deliver long-term and annual operating objectives; coupled with experience developing and executing strategic and operational plans in a cross-functional team structure.
- Managing a portfolio of diverse programs throughout their life cycle while maintaining execution excellence over cost, schedule, risk management, scope control, customer management, product support, manufacturing, quality and facilitating Integrated Product Teams (IPT) in the co-ordination and delivery of annual objectives.
- Engage with business development, product portfolio and sales leaders to harness market opportunities, including building and maintaining networks at executive levels to partner with and serve Australian Defence, Government and Industry.
- An outstanding track-record in leading and delivering high quality advice in complex and time-sensitive settings, as well as managing issues and decision-making in regulated environments; ensuring alignment with organisational and regulatory/statutory frameworks to meet full responsibilities of our legal entities.
- Understand, analyse, disseminate and communicate to the broader organisation the political, economic, social, technological, environmental, and legal factors affecting business opportunities within Australia.
- Strong negotiation skills and business acumen: able to assert ideas and persuade others in a clear and compelling manner. Areas include price negotiation, terms, and product configurations with end users, supplier arrangements and executive stakeholders while remaining compliant with policy frameworks.
- Bachelor's or Masters degree plus minimum 12 year's experience in the industry.
