OnsiteCollins Aerospace is looking for an Electronic Component Failure Analysis Engineer to support Power & Controls electronic component engineering team in Windsor Locks, CT. - Supporting and resolving failure analysis activities on electronic components used in Aerospace product designs and ensuring root cause corrective action is determined.
- Communicating with both internal and external customers on results of failure analysis activities and providing both presentation and report type outputs.
- Operation of equipment such as C-SAM, CT-Scan, SEM and microscope and photography equipment for supporting failure analysis
- Operation of standard test bench measurement equipment
- Work with LabVIEW software to develop test capabilities required to support failure analysis activities.
- Creation of new component test plans
- Providing technical support to supply base, & commodity buyers for various aerospace electronics products (integrated circuits, magnetics, and electronic assemblies).
- Performing component qualification and testing
- Support supervision and lab team in growing the capabilities of the lab through procurement of capital equipment and/or knowing where equipment is available to support investigation activities.
- Support Component engineering team in other component engineering tasks required to support the business.
- Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) unless prohibited by local laws/regulations and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience.

- 4 years of experience in design and development of aerospace electronic products
- 2 - 4 years of experience in performing electronic hardware or component level failure investigation activities
- Experience with the lab equipment used in failure analysis such as x-ray, SEM, C-SAM, microcircuit de-capsulation, environmental chambers, curve tracers, microscope, photography equipment.
- Experience using test bench measurement instrumentation like oscilloscopes, programmable power supplies, function generators, National Instruments PXI and DAQ.
- Familiar with electronic component manufacturing processes and physics of failure for electronic components.
- Familiar with industry and military specifications and test techniques.
- Comfortable working in a team environment with both local and remote team members.
- Comfortable in managing multiple small tasks simultaneously.
- Comfortable in quickly changing priorities and achieving results in short time durations.
