Our team sits at the intersection of data, strategy, and execution. The Data and Analytics team reports directly to the Vice President, Data Engineering, Analytics, and AI in Product Development.

In this role, you will lead complex data modeling and analyses to support clinical, operational, and financial decisions, and play a key role in developing data products that shape strategic direction. You will collaborate across departments, mentor junior analysts, and work directly with business stakeholders. As a Senior Staff Data Architect, you’ll lead the technical strategy and execution for the ingestion and modeling layer of our data platform and analytics. You will work hands-on to design, build, and optimize data pipelines and dimensional models, while also setting technical direction and mentoring a small team of data engineers, BI developers. This is a key technical leadership role—not a people management role—that will shape how we transform raw data into clean, analytics-ready datasets. You’ll report to the VP of Data, Analytics and AI and work closely with peers across Data Engineering, Analytics, Product, Operations and Insights to deliver data solutions that matter.

What you'll do:

  • Responsible for the innovation strategy and technology roadmap for CollectiveHealth’s Data Cloud, overseeing the design, development, and product portfolio of our next-generation Datalake cloud platform (Databricks).
  • Designing and implementing data pipelines, optimizing data storage solutions, and establishing best practices for data integration and analysis.
  • Work across Data Platform, Data Engineering, Analytics and Data Science teams to ensure that our data infrastructure and tooling best meets our overall data strategy
  • Lead advanced development teams building proof-of-concept implementations for data platforms and solutions.
  • Establish processes and governance around data design, consumption and protection
  • Responsible for defining and working across functional and platform teams to deliver a standardized data architecture, pipeline and data products to support our internal and external data analytics, reporting and data availability needs
  • Be the Technical Owner in partnership with our Business Product Owners to define the technical strategy for our data driven products and applications.
  • Work with our product and data science organizations to develop business requirements into architecture and integrate into our longer term platform strategy
  • Stay up to date on new tools & techniques in the data space
  • Lead and mentor other team members
  • Identify and drive process improvements
  • Facilitate communication with teams throughout the organization
  • Introduce standard methodologies and principles around data design and governance to enable consistent delivery and enable alignment with strategic direction
  • Collaborate with data engineering to use our data platform and tooling to meet the business’s operational, insights and analytics needs
  • Enables data usability, availability, and efficiency

  • Deep understanding of data modeling that facilitates both operational insights and reporting as well as enabling sophisticated AI/ML models, to develop data-driven recommendations
    MS or PhD in Computer Science, Data Science or related degree
  • 15+ years of experience architecting, designing and developing large scale data solutions utilizing a mixture of structured and unstructured data
  • Proven experience leading teams resulting in the successful deployment of applications built on data platforms
  • Experience using various ML models to drive recommendation engines, particularly in healthcare, is a plus
  • Experience driving technical ideas and communicating clearly with technical as well as non-technical audiences
  • Experience as the technical lead or data architect, organizing and mentoring junior and intermediate level developers, data engineers or architects

Pay Transparency Statement 

This is a hybrid position based out of our San Francisco office, with the expectation of being in office at least two weekdays per week. #LI-hybrid 

The actual pay rate offered within the range will depend on factors including geographic location, qualifications, experience, and internal equity. In addition to the salary, you will be eligible for stock options and benefits like health insurance, 401k, and paid time off.
