BD at Coinbase is focused on accelerating our mission to increase economic freedom in the world through groundbreaking partnerships. We have created a new role overseeing business development efforts for the US & Canada and our stablecoin-native Coinbase for Business product. In this role you will act as the go-to business lead for product partnerships in your domain - a shrewd Swiss army knife operator willing to be the tip of the spear for new initiatives for Coinbase.

We're looking for a top-tier operator with a background in strategy consulting and fintech to join Coinbase's Business Development team, with a focus on payments infrastructure and market expansion across the US and Canada.

In this role, you'll be the point person for payments-related BD in the region - driving strategic partnerships across the fintech stack and helping launch new products and markets. Half your scope will focus on supporting Coinbase for Business, our stablecoin-native platform that's reimagining how money moves for platforms, marketplaces, and global businesses. The other half will support our go-to-market efforts in Canada, including core Retail products like Coinbase Card and Coinbase One.

• Drive partner strategy and deal execution across payments infrastructure in the US and Canada - including BaaS, PSPs, real-time payments, and stablecoin-native flows.
• Serve as a core team member on Coinbase for Business, helping shape distribution, payment rail coverage, and bank partner strategy.
• Identify and execute strategic partnerships that unlock Canadian market expansion across both Retail and stablecoin product lines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Product, Legal, Compliance, Policy) to scope opportunities, structure partnerships, and launch them effectively.
• Bring a structured lens to ambiguous spaces: map partner ecosystems, frame tradeoffs, and build the case for how Coinbase should grow in-market.
• Monitor trends across fintech, payments, and crypto infrastructure - and proactively surface opportunities Coinbase should be pursuing.
• Operate like an owner: move fast, influence internally, and act as the connective tissue across product and market strategy.

• 4-6 years of experience, with time at a top-tier consulting firm or investment bank and a leading fintech.
• Deep curiosity about the evolution of financial infrastructure and the role stablecoins can play in programmable money.
• Strong command of the North American payments landscape - including how money moves today and where it's going (e.g. ACH, RTP, card networks, BaaS, embedded finance).
• Clear communicator with a track record of influencing across functions - particularly with Product, Legal, and Compliance teams.
• Highly structured thinker; you know how to break down complex problems and turn them into action.
• Entrepreneurial mindset: comfortable working in ambiguity and fast-moving environments, with a strong bias for ownership and velocity.
• Passion for crypto and a desire to work on the next wave of fintech innovation.
