ABOUT THE ROLE

Senior Manager, PACS, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macao & Mongolia (HKTMM), The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC)

We are seeking an experienced, result-driven professional whose role ('the role') as well as required capabilities encompass our function of Public Affairs, Communications and Sustainability (PACS), with a focus on sustainability - strategic projects and initiatives, partnerships and stakeholder engagement especially customer partnerships.

  • With 'the end in mind' which is to help achieve TCCC sustainability goals in local markets, design and deliver sustainability engagement and behavior change programs and initiatives in alignment with company priorities, strategies, aspirations, as well as local business needs.
  • Work in partnership with the community and stakeholders in area of sustainability and actively participate in relevant projects for local sustainability. One main focus is on co-developing engagement and behavior change programs with key customers to further joint sustainability agenda.
  • Devise, deliver on internal and public education and communication programs or projects on sustainability to promote awareness, drive cultural and behavioral change and catalyze action, including acting as a champion for sustainable practice across HKTMM markets.

Overall, the PACS Senior Manager will work together with both the local PACS team and the GC&M OU PACS team and be in close partnership with internal/external stakeholders to achieve functional missions, including but not limited to:

  • ENGAGE key stakeholders and business partners to create favorable public policy environment.
  • PROTECT corporate reputation and business interests from PACS perspective to ensure freedom for business growth.
  • PROMOTE corporate reputation, Company Purpose and 'Corporate Character' through impactful communication.

Location: Hong Kong SAR (The role requires reasonable level of business travels in the Great China & Mongolia markets).

Regional Coverage: Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macao & Mongolia (HKTMM)

Direct Reporting Line: Director, PACS, HKTMM

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

ENGAGE - FOCUSING ON SUSTAINABILITY:

  • Build and maintain strong stakeholder relations through partnerships, sponsorships, events or responsiveness to requests, with key stakeholders including the government/NGOs, bottlers, customers/consumers, etc.
  • Identify potential areas for collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Liaison with regional government personnel and legislators to discuss policy issues and enforcement practices that potentially affect the operation of TCCC business/the beverage sector and lobby for creating business friendly environment.
  • Lead implementation and communication of World Without Waste (WWW) projects and other key ESG (Environmental, Social and Corporate Governance) initiatives in different HKTMM territories, all in alignment with global priorities, positioning and initiatives.
  • Connect and engage with industry or business associations when appropriate to maximize the impact.
  • In addition: Monitor macro-economic and political development and provide public affairs insight and counselling to business leaders. Analyze key policy development or political events.

The successful candidate will also assist the PACS Director in HKTMM in ensuring delivery on the HKTMM PACS ABPs (Annual Business Plans) and LRPs (Long-range Plans), as well as overseeing management of local PACS budget to ensure programs are executed within budget parameters. Thus the role requires strong functional and leadership capabilities that are related to the following role aspects:

PROTECT:

  • Identify operational risks from PACS perspective and work with internal stakeholders to take pre-empt action in support of business growth. Provide and lead successful communication solutions to crises, policy changes and other arising issues.
  • Develop and maintain efficient IMCR protocol including Business Continuity Plan (BCP), including serving as part of the IMCR core team, conducting IMCR/PRISM reporting, and arranging IMCR training and best practice sharing to enhance issue/crisis preparedness.
  • Lead issue/crisis communication to support business across a dynamic political and social territories; Support PACS Director in issue/crisis management from PACS perspective in HKTMM.

PROMOTE:

  • Help develop corporate communication strategies (including media strategies and key message platforms). Manage and lead PR communication and corporate reputation initiatives across HKTMM to enhance the organization's visibility, shape/influence positive narratives.
  • Foster and drive proactive media relations in today's new media environment. Manage timely response to media inquiries and deliver consistent messaging in a professional manner when necessary.
  • Enhance leadership profiling; prepare senior management for media interviews and other publicity opportunities by arranging media and spokesperson training to ensure we are 'spokesperson-ready'.
  • Execute and manage select brand PR programs, especially those with substantial impact on business or on our ESG agenda.
  • Establish, develop and utilize effective media monitoring and social listening skills and PR measurement tools.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Possesses high level of professional and personal integrity.
  • Ability to exert influence and have impact in a networked organization.
  • Must display great business acumen and strong strategic thinking. Deep experience in both strategic and tactical elements of PACS.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Positive energy, with "can do" attitude.
  • Able to balance multiple priorities simultaneously; Deals quickly with the unexpected and manages crises effectively and successfully.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCES:

  • Minimum 10 years of PACS experience with a focus on sustainability. Other experience in the broader PR or Corporate Affairs fields is a plus. These include but not limited to government relations, media relations, event organization, corporate communication and issue/crisis management, etc.
  • Deep experience, gained from prior government relations/lobbying or with prior sustainability efforts, is seen as valuable.
  • University degree in sustainability and communication fields; prior working experience with key multinational companies a plus.
  • Excellent written, verbal communications and presentation skills in both English and Cantonese. Fluent mandarin a plus.
