Plumber and Pipefitter
Job Summary
The Plumber and Pipefitter is responsible for planning the daily activities and preventative maintenance schedule. The role completes corrections and repairs that needs to be done on a daily and weekly basis with the Facility Maintenance Supervisor and executes what is planned on the territory.
Major Responsibilities
• Prepare and submit required reports and detailed written work procedures
• Plan daily activities to ensure good productivity of gang employees
• Contact other departments as required when assistance is needed on various types of repair work
Working Conditions
• The role has a standard workweek from Monday to Friday
• The role requires being available on-call to respond to critical incidents
• The role requires regular travel (50%) across the assigned province
• The role is required to work at heights and work in adverse conditions
• The role requires the ability to lift 15 lbs
Requirements
• Minimum 5 years of experience as a plumber and pipefitter
• Must have a commercial gas ticket
• Must have a provincial plumbing ticket
• Must have a good knowledge of Standard Plans and Standard Process Controls (SPCs)
• Must be able to understand and read detailed drawings and sketches for various types of repair work and prepare material orders

• Must be safety conscious and capable of ensuring a safe working environment for the employees under their direction by planning and properly installing scaffolding and fall protection systems
• Must have a good knowledge of cranes including signals for giving direction to crane operators
• Proficiency in computer applications related to communication and engineering systems is required
*Any experience/education/skills/knowledge for these above would be considered as an asset
Training
The Plumber and Pipefitter must complete all training sessions as directed by the company. A successful completion of this training is crucial for future performance of duties.
This position is a unionized position. As such, pay and benefits are governed by the applicable collective agreement
