Who We're Looking For - Insurance Licensing, Appointments & Certifications Manager

The Insurance Licensing, Appointment, and Certification Manager oversees the state licensure, insurance carrier contracting and appointment of agents, and the certification and "ready to sell" status of all agents selling and marketing insurance plans. You will be responsible for the process starting from pre-hire verification of license and contracting eligibility and status, to the agent being ready to sell with insurance carriers. You will utilize our internal and third-party systems and will be responsible for the accuracy of data. You will oversee and ensure that agents have completed renewal requirements and yearly certification for our insurance carriers.

The Impact You Will Make

The Insurance Licensing Manager is responsible for ensuring that insurance agents and brokers within their organization are properly licensed to sell insurance products in accordance with state regulations. This role is critical in protecting consumers and maintaining the integrity of the insurance industry.

  • Licensing Compliance: Ensuring that all insurance agents and brokers possess the necessary licenses to sell insurance products in the states where they operate. This involves keeping track of licensing requirements and deadlines, submitting license applications, and renewing licenses as needed.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Staying up-to-date with state insurance laws, regulations, and licensing requirements to ensure that the organization remains compliant with all applicable regulations. This may involve interpreting complex regulatory guidelines and implementing processes to ensure compliance.
  • License Maintenance: Managing the process of obtaining and maintaining insurance licenses for agents and brokers, including monitoring continuing education requirements and ensuring that licenses are renewed on time.
  • Training and Education: Providing training and education to insurance agents and brokers on licensing requirements, regulations, and compliance procedures. This may involve conducting training sessions, developing educational materials, and offering support to agents seeking to obtain or renew licenses.
  • Record Keeping: Maintaining accurate records of all licensing activities, including license applications, renewals, continuing education credits, and compliance audits. This may involve using specialized software systems to track licensing information and ensure that records are complete and up-to-date.
  • Communication: Serving as a point of contact for insurance agents, brokers, regulatory agencies, and internal stakeholders regarding licensing matters. This may involve answering questions, resolving issues, and providing guidance on licensing requirements and procedures.
  • Audits and Reporting: Coordinating and participating in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with licensing regulations. This may involve preparing reports, gathering documentation, and implementing corrective actions as needed to address any compliance deficiencies.
  • Policy Development: Assisting in the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to licensing and compliance to ensure that the organization operates in accordance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Carrier Appointments: Manage and oversee the carrier appointment process ensuring that all agents are appointed and ready to sell with applicable carriers. Communicate and attend meetings with carrier partners as needed to ensure timely processing and updates of requests. Ensure that Clearlink's systems are accurate and correct to avoid any unqualified sales.

  • Minimum of 3- 5 years of experience in a related field
  • Bachelor's Degree in relevant field - preferred not required
