The Facility Maintenance Manager II oversees a multi-trade maintenance department in a refinery setting.
Responsibilities
- Ensures Health and Safety is the number one goal by following policies, processes, and acting in a safe manner at all times.
- Supervision of all maintenance employees and shifts
- Experience and familiarity with more than one of these following functions, Welding, Pipe fitting, Mechanic, Electrical, and Preventative maintenance planning, Purchasing, and Spare parts/Critical parts inventory management
- Maintains facility equipment through Preventive Maintenance management systems. Assures proper preventative maintenance of all plant equipment including boilers, compressors, pumps, pressure vessels, and piping systems.
- Responsible for all personnel related functions for maintenance employees, including, but not limited to, hiring, firing, and performance appraisals.
- Maintains all plant equipment and systems, and participates in procurement of equipment and supplies.
- Assures all contractor agreement forms and safety training is complete for outside contractors.
- Site owner for Mechanical Integrity program
- Ensures that work meets all applicable Health and Safety Standard Operating Procedures, holds employees accountable.
- Ensures, understands and has ownership for area specific required compliance standards.
- Reviews all applicable SOP’s and satisfactorily completes quizzes.
- Determines time frames and allocation of resources for projects and follows up to ensure production goals are met, schedules all work.
- Supervises administrative aspects of supply management. (PO’s, invoice reconciliation, record keeping, etc.)
- Responsible for maintaining a clean work environment.
- Understands and drives Clean Compliance Standard.
- Performs other duties and tasks as assigned from time to time by management and will be required by the needs of the Clean Harbors business.
- Management of capital improvement projects as they pertain to maintenance.

- High School or equivalent required
- Bachelors of Science in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical or Industrial Engineering Preferred
- 3 to 5 years maintenance or industrial experience required.
- Experience in Refining, Petrochemical, Paper/Pulp, or Chemical preferred
- Familiarity with API and ASME Standards
- Experience with Confined Space and Safe Work Practices
- Ability to work in a team environment required
- Ability to wear required PPE and work outside in various weather conditions
- Ability to be on-call on weekends and holidays
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Projects preferred
- Specialized knowledge in more than one of the following subject matters:
- Welding
- Pipe fitting / steam fitting
- Industrial electrical
- PLC’s and DCS
- Instrumentation
- Pressure vessels
- Rotating equipment including pumps and compressors
