Position Summary

Varian build specialist experienced in working with Aria system configuration. Also experience in working with Radiation Oncology operation teams and end users within organization and other outside parties as necessary to trouble shoot build issues, operational issues, and other technical issues. This person is responsible to configure, test and deploy the Aria software according to decisions made by operational and technical SMEs. Participate in initiatives by gathering and analyzing information, preparing structured documentation, and presentations of findings and general troubleshooting as necessary. Complete assigned team tasks as documented in the work plan. Report status of task completion to assigned Lead and Manager. Provide timely alerts about endangered milestones and deliverables

Key Responsibilities include:
  • Analyzes, develops, configures, tests and implements Aria Electronic Health Record (EHR) software and related analytics, with minimal supervision.
  • Acts as user liaison between clinical or business departments and Information Systems; providing domain expertise and experience for multiple interacting healthcare departments. Mentors Aria EHR associate analysts and Aria EHR analysts and provides team coordination tasks for specific project components that require specialized clinical knowledge.
  • Performs system configuration functions using on-line architectural tools with minimal supervision. Leads others to adhere to established industry best practices, standards, and quality.
  • Works closely with operational stakeholders to properly engineer workflow.
  • Produces user requested reports utilizing special features on designated systems.
  • Oversees maintenance of the assigned EHR modules.
  • Interfaces with designated software vendor personnel to recommend and coordinate various enhancements, changes, and resolutions to software problems.
  • Prepares charts and diagrams to assist in problem analysis and submits recommendations for solutions.
  • Prepares detailed program specifications and flowcharts, and coordinates the system's installation with the user department.
  • Analyzes user-reported problems to determine corrective action.
  • Provides status reports to management when required.
  • Attends meetings as required, and participates on committees as directed. Facilitates and coordinates stakeholder discussions.
  • Maintains a positive image when dealing with department personnel and other City of Hope employees.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to maintain certification/licensure, and/or keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
  • Maintains data awareness and expertise across system architecture.
  • Maintains extensive system configuration knowledge.
  • Ensures department documentation is at current levels.
  • Governance, Change Management, Project, Incident, Access
  • Other Duties as Assigned.
Basic education, experience and skills required for consideration:
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Experience may substitute for minimum education requirements
  • 5+ years healthcare Information Technology experience.
Preferred education experience and skills:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and very good knowledge in SQL language
  • Varian Medical Systems knowledge
  • Proven expertise in Aria configuration, architecture, interfaces, operational workflows
  • 5+ years of healthcare Information Technology experience in Aria EHR configuration, build and testing.
  • Experience in the design, planning and implementation of Oncology systems preferred .
  • 5+ years of healthcare Information Technology experience in Aria EHR configuration, build and testing.
  • Experience in the design, planning and implementation of Oncology systems preferred
