CORPORATE SECURITY SYSTEMS ENGINEER
WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?
This position will support the Corporate Security Systems Manager in the development, design, testing, installation, administration and the operation of the bank's security systems (e.g. access control, video surveillance, alarms, security databases, networked security devices, electronic patrol systems, integrated environmental systems and radio communications, etc.) and mechanical controls throughout the organization to meet regulatory requirements, comply with industry, national, regional and international standards in the protection of City National Bank's assets. The CSS Engineer designs systems, engages vendors, procure equipment and work closely with the other CSS Team Members and the Security Systems Operation Center in validating proper implementation of security controls. The CSS Engineer is responsible for the development of system standards and policies in direct support of the strategic goals of the Corporate Security Systems Manager and the Director of Security. On call 24/7 to respond to security systems issues and emergencies. The CSS Engineer will keep abreast of current security trends, standards, guidelines, developments and techniques. The CSS Engineer will interface with project managers, lines of business, users, law enforcement and vendors to support the design, modification and implementation of physical security systems technology to meet the bank's needs.

Legal and Corporate Administration Group

What you will do
- Back up the Corporate Security Systems Manager in their absence.
- Support the Corporate Security Systems Manager in creating the baseline programming of Corporate Security Systems to ensure proper system operation, redundancy and protection of assets.
- Determine business unit system needs and objectives and consults with business unit regarding problems with current business applications or systems, enhancements, or new functionality.
- Prepare business and system requirements for maintenance/enhancements and present recommendations to Corporate Security management.
- Gather and writes-up business and system requirements, prepare test scripts, quality controls all changes, develop and code documents and supports the Corporate Security teams for trouble shooting hardware and software.
- Evaluate, audit and test Corporate Security Systems (e.g. access control, digital video, alarms, security databases, networked security devices, electronic patrol systems, integrated environmental systems and radio communications) to ensure integrity of information and programming of the systems, will initiate and log changes as needed.
- Provide CSS technical support to the Security Systems Operation Center and the Corporate Security Department 24/7 and provide training as needed. Will review Security Systems Operation Center change control logs to validate operation of the CSS.
- Recommend policy and procedure changes to management as needed. Visit Bank locations to perform visual observations of PSS issues and provide user training as needed.
- Support the CSS Manager in evaluating risk and designing CSS solutions (e.g., alarms, access control, video surveillance, etc).
- Review facility, mechanical and environmental security requirements, BATS requirements and architectural drawings with the PSS Manager to design effective CSS solutions.
- Interact with architects, facility project managers, BATS and security integrators for proper operation and installation of the PSS.
- Responsible for research and development of security control systems.
- As needed, visits bank locations to support projects, perform Risk Assessments, validate security controls, and/or conduct user training.
- In support of CSS projects, the CSS Engineer will be required to communicate with stakeholders and project teams, assist in the development of project security requirements and design, determine deliverables, assign tasks, define activities, sequence of events, estimate resources, and schedule appropriately.
Must-Have
- H.S. Diploma
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in designing and administrating business systems or security systems
- Minimum of 5 years' experience in the physical protection and security of a company's property and assets
Skills and Knowledge
- Strong customer service skills
- Strong time management skills, capable of multitasking and prioritizing work effectively
- Strong ability to communicate technical requirements to BATS, vendors and architects
- Must be able to understand, interpret and communicate schematics and architectural drawings
- Strong analytical skills, must be able to evaluate PSS issues and properly diagnose
- Strong knowledge of networked physical security systems and protocols (e.g. IP communication, IP cameras, digital recorders, access control controllers, alarm devices, alarm panels, etc.)
- Strong working knowledge of security alarm systems, alarm automation software administration, analog and video management servers, video systems administration, access control systems administration, security systems integration and system redundancy design.
- Ability to interact effectively with all levels of colleagues, vendors and law enforcement
- Knowledge of basic server administration, desktop administration and system remote management
- Knowledge of Physical Security mechanical systems and design (e.g. doors, locks, vaults, safes, ATMs, etc.)
- Knowledge of Security best practices, guidelines and standards
- Knowledge of Bank Regulatory requirements
- Knowledge of project management best practices, standards and guidelines
- Ability to travel regionally and domestic
- Physical Security Professional (PSP) and/or Certified Protection Professional (CPP) certification is preferable
Compensation
Starting base salary: $78,970 - $126,140 per year. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. This job is eligible for bonus and/or commissions.
