Role Summary:

The Director of IT Operations is a strategic and operational leader responsible for ensuring the reliability, availability, performance and scalability of the organization's IT infrastructure and services. This role oversees the teams and technologies that support end-user experience, enterprise systems, cloud platforms, networking, automation tools, and service continuity. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong technical foundation and a passion for operational excellence, innovation, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

Operational Leadership

  • Lead and manage IT operations teams across infrastructure, cloud, networking, end-user support, and automation.
  • Develop and execute strategies to improve service delivery, system reliability, incident management, and user satisfaction.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs and SLAs to ensure high performance and accountability.

End-User Experience

  • Oversee the delivery of IT support services, ensuring a seamless and responsive experience for internal users.
  • Implement tools and processes to proactively monitor and improve user satisfaction.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance digital workplace productivity.

Systems & Cloud Infrastructure

  • Manage enterprise systems including servers, storage, virtualization, and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP).
  • Ensure systems are secure, scalable, and aligned with business needs.

Networking

  • Sustain and optimize network infrastructure (LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi/VPN).
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and security of network services.
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to enforce network security policies.

Tools & Automation

  • Champion the adoption of automation tools to streamline operations and reduce manual effort.
  • Evaluate and implement ITSM platforms, monitoring tools, and orchestration solutions.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement through DevOps and Infrastructure-as-Code practices.

Service Continuity & Resilience

  • Develop and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.
  • Ensure systems and services are resilient to outages and recoverable in a timely manner.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments and recovery drills.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in IT operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven experience managing complex IT environments including cloud, networking, and enterprise systems.
  • Strong understanding of ITIL, DevOps, and modern automation frameworks.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with budgeting, vendor management, and strategic planning.
